EireIreland: you're totally right.. And..People who are just getting the passport in order to leave the country should be ashamed of theirselves. Strange thing happened...
INIS website was updated today..They removed the text about the Christmas holidays but they also removed ALL pdf attachements (Form8, 9, etc) which were available on this site. Iw onder if this was a mistake or if there are changes being made to the process...

Any guesses?

This is somehow very strange: - 72000 Irish passport were issues last year wolrdwide - Backlog at INIS is 16500 and the processing time for these applications will be ~ 2 years. This explains a lot of things..
At least they're now admitting that they're not processing the applications chronlogically. Mid 2007 sounds very good (I'm assuming of course that the information is true :lol: )

Guys, don't forget to mention this to you Td, prefereably someone from labour or Fine Gael. He will definitely raise this issue in the Dail and will also get an answer from the MOJ

Since when do things in the DOJ make sense :) Not sure about the benefits..They won't give the citizenship if they have any doubt that you'de be claiming benefits soon.. Don't forget that they will also charge you for the new passports... I think they're underpressure to bring in a certain amount of...

Applied Feb 2008 so I should be far away from being naturalised...
I'm going to try to use contacts though to speed this up and get naturalised next year..I know it's not fair but let's see what happens. I'll keep you all uptodate.
