Hi Gang, I had my PEO interview on Wednesday. A success on the day. The chap who was my case worker was really friendly..in fact they all were listening in the conversations of other people applying. My leave was due to expire August 2011 but the chap has extended me to August 2013 so gives me total...

thanks for the info...if the wait for the green card is that long what do we do if we get a job offer but it starts before the time the green card is issued...no employer would hire u if they have to wait for you to get the green card...this is riduculous

so guys how long will it take to get a green card once you apply for it?

it seems like u can only apply once u have a job offer which is fair enough

what happens if ur job commences before the application process..

can u work while your application is been processed?!

I'm sure with the people earning between 30K to 60K they will monitor how much these people earn via tax return forms, pay slips etc. I think prospective applicants would need to verify how much they earn in a financial year to apply or reapply for the green card, similar to the HSMP whereby you hav...

It seems we have to wait until late january to find out which jobs are eligible to apply for the greencard. The legislation is in effect Feb 1st.

Dear Peter,
Details of the new Economic Migration arrangements, which shall take effect on 1 Feb 07, shall be posted on the Department's website www.entemp.ie before the end of January.

Skilled shortages

Does anyone know what occupations are considered as skilled shortages in Ireland and can therefore be eligible for the Green Card, particularly for occupations between the 30-60K euros that the Minister for Employment is referring to.?!
