Residence permit (5 years) application

Hi,

I'm about to apply for my Husband's residence permit. His EEA family permit will expire in May. What type of documents do I need to provide when applying for the permit? Could you anyone who has previously applied for a residence permit please help me out

Does anyone know how it works with the dates in regards to travelling? If I have put down 10th of January as intended travel date would that mean I can only travel from 10th January onwards even if the Visa is has been issued on the 25th of November? How does this work? My husband has received a text from VSF today with the following text "The processed visa application for GWF***** is ready for collection"

What does this mean? Does it mean a decision has been made?
