Foreign Births Register - Grandfather changed his first name

His name on his passport is different from his birth name. He started using a different name about 60 years ago, 'did not do it by deed poll' they have asked me for evidence - not sure what to do?

I applied in late September 2017 and finally heard back today, in late March 2018 My grandfather changed his name from Eleazar to Jack ...but not by deed poll! (because 'things were different back 40 years ago' etc) The name on his birth certificate therefore does not match the one on his driving ...

Hello, I sent it all off in August but I just learned I am supposed to be registered adopted first...I didn't do that. Will they send it all back and charge me the fee all over again?

Thanks for replying. Oh no seriously...I already sent my form on the 20th of Aug and paid the big fee will I have to pay it again :( The website didn't give information about adoption and I'm my adopted mothers daughter

Hello! I wonder if anyone could help me with some question I can't find on the official website. I'm english, applying for Irish citizenship though my Irish Grandad. He is 89 and his christian name on his passport does not match the christian name on his birth certificate - but he never changed it ...
