Re: How to apply for passport after Naturalisation 2 years ago.

Jesus man, how do you cross the road without help every day?

Go to post office, ask for form, decide whether you want your documents lost in the post, if not then pay a fiver for a courier lumped together with passport fee.

It took me 5 days, Google is also your friend

Re: Re-entering UK with Citizenship Cert but No Passport or BRP

Without a British passport you can only travel as a citizen if your original passport is stamped by the Home Office.
I don’t believe that can happen abroad and certainly not in Zimbabwe.

If that’s the advice you were given then try to find a bar job for 18 weeks.

Re: Unsuccessful applications

Hello, My naturalization application got refused on the grounds that i wasn't present on the day of application 5 years before. I applied with Leeds NCS on 22 Feb 2018. So per my understanding I should have been present on 22 feb 2013 which I was {This is following the examples given in the applica...

Re: Received FPN after submitting naturalisation application -do i need to inform HO

FPNs are normally handed out for offences which are criminal in nature. Littering is a criminal offence, albeit a minor one. Sounds harsh but that’s the law. Ah!! Makes perfect sense, thank you. I didn't realise they indicated a criminal offence (never had one) and certainly didn't occur to me that...

Re: British Citizenship Refused - UK Registration Card not provided

Last week I took the advice of friends and family who are all extremely aware and alert to the current climate in our country, to write to my MP, which was a very satisfying and positive experience. I had a written reply within five days with the update that she has taken my case to the Home Office...

Re: Received FPN after submitting naturalisation application -do i need to inform HO

I believe that any FPN or criminal offence which happens after submission of an application needs to be declared, so an FPN happening after application would need to be declared to the Home Office by letter. It wouldn't in itself result in a rejection. Also on criminal offences there is no 'qualify...

Re: Received FPN after submitting naturalisation application -do i need to inform HO

Naturalisation application works based on the qualifying period, ie you have to disclose everything that happened within the 5 years prior to your application. And certain things (such as employment) 10 years prior. That says to me that, no, you don't need to tell them anything that happened since t...

Re: First Passport after naturalisation

You are not forced under any circumstance to get a British passport just because you are a citizen. However, most likely after Brexit, you would need to have your passport endorsed by the Home Office to allow you to travel freely. This endorsement only lasts for the duration of the validity of your ...

Hi thanx for your reply Yes i put down the date of my employments, from the first day i worked and the last day i worked and in between all that i only worked in total approximately about 30 to 35 days just if i was required. In the application it doesn't ask you exactly the dates that you worked i...

Ah, I see.
When I came to the UK, I took English Classes in College, and I passed Level 4 at that time, does this count, or I just need to take a B1 test instead?
It will probably take you less time to take the B1 exam than try to find a substitute for it.

Re: Complicated NCS+ End up posting

There is no requirement to send 10 years evidence. You have sent far too much. Naturalisation is based on the last 5 years residence. That is all that is required. If you did not have all the P60s, you could have just included bank statements or payslips or benefit letters to prove your residency. ...

Re: BC Refused due to working - Caseworker error

Sorry, I don't understand. The application form requires you to enter dates of your employment. What do you mean it doesn't? If you don't write down the dates, how do you expect the Home Office to process your employment record?

It sounds to me that you filled out the form incorrectly.

Re: Information Required for First Passport Following Naturalisation

There are people who get their British Citizenship through ancestry, I don't know how that works exactly (I'm naturalised through residency) but agree that the requirements are confusing. I was only able to provide my parents' birth details, not their date of marriage and have read that grandparents...

it is a little difficult to give you advice without knowing your circumstances but this board is full of stories where applications were rejected because people provided only the bare minimum for the Home Office. Unfortunately HO staff are not known for their competency. While with a non-EEA citizen...

Re: Refused BC - Pre Action Protocol

This is why people should consult a good immigration solicitor before they apply for citizenship. This isn't a visa application. A solicitor would have told you that a) HO staff are notoriously ill trained and b) providing a cover letter and ample evidence of residency is a good idea. When you apply...

I applied for British naturalisation in 2017 and the home office refused my application on the basis of good character requirements. On question 3.10, the application form asked "Have you ever been involved in, supported or encouraged terrorist activities in any country?" and I ticked no as I previ...

Do the periods covered by the letters have any gaps between them? There is a three-month gap between finishing my undergraduate degree and starting my masters degree from July 2017-October 2017. However, seeing as this was a summer holiday period and that I was not enrolled anywhere, I can't really...
