Re: ILR Life in uk fail

Hello all. I am currently on a uk spouse visa 5 year route. However I am due to apply for ILR but can not seem to pass the life in the uk exam. I call immigration to find out my options and was told to talk to a lawyer (not in a rude way he genuinely didn't know). Hopefully someone here can help as...

Re: ILR to BC question

FYI: Even if there are two passport applications and two different HMPO addresses, both documents can be sent to ONE HMPO office also in case of a family. However, HMPO will transfer the documents to the correct HMPO office via internal mail which will slightly delay the application. So best practic...

Re: ILR to BC question

Also, in the application, when it asks about the spouse details (that is yourself), input British. The form by default assumes then the applicant is applying as per Section 6(2) plus the 3 year evidence. Also clarify your other nationality (Aus) in the cover letter or add in the form itself.

Re: First passport documents post

Hi Gurus, I have been reading several worrying stories on this forum from people whose naturalisation cert were not handled properly by HMPO. To keep the supporting docs (specially naturalisation certificate) what is the best practice ? Which envelope should we send the documents and which/if any s...

Re: ILR to BC question

Thanks again @Cullinan , thanks alterhase ! We have a confusion, in the application we no where mentioned that he is applying in his own right or as spouse of British citizen (there is no such question). How can we specify that he is applying as spouse of British citizen ? Requirement of docs: Proo...

Re: Expired passport for BC naturalisation

Select the correct category while filling the AN application. It asks if you have a valid passport. Select NO. Then it will ask details of the expired passport. As long you have a valid ILR, there should be no issues. If your passport expired in 6/2020, add some proof of address e.g. bills and counc...

Re: ILR to BC question

No need to declare a PCN.

He should apply on the 13th Jan to avoid any doubts.

If he applies on the 13th Jan 2022, he should be physically in UK on the 14th Jan 2019.

Submit a copy of your passport, Naturalisation certificate and marriage certificate.

Re: Do I need Life in Uk test for ILR as a refugee?

As Vinny said, you do not need LIUK for ILR. However, you would need to pass English B1 SELT and LIUK both if you plan to apply for Nationality in the future.

Re: ILR to BC question

No need to mention tourist visas. Only mention the start of Tier2.

Look for free appointments. You will get one hopefully.

Not necessarily it takes 4-6 months. Some applications are accepted in less than a month also. It varies, it can take up to 6 months standard processing, less or more.

Re: Refusal of EUSS Family Permit

Update: Home Office overturned their decision and granted the EUSS family permit. However, it wasted 1.5 years of the newly wed couple’s life!!!! Shame on HO!
Thank you all for your feedback and help.

All 24 questions have never been from the 16 exams. 21/22 questions are always which is enough to pass ;)

Re: Life in the UK test - how long to prepare for it?

My recommendation: https://lifeintheuktestweb.co.uk/exams/ Do the 16 EXAMS as the link pasted above. Note “exams” not “tests.” The same website has tests also but do the exams. You will pass the test as long you do all the exams at home and are perfect in scoring 24/24 at home. No need to do anythi...

Thanks CULLINAN for your clear advice. Sorry I know I'm a pain on this question. Is there any gov/UKVCAS page that I can find this 45 working days information? The point I'm hesitating is the application might become invalid or rejected in case the rule changed without notice. I trust your professi...
