Re: Citizenship after over staying, 5 or 10 year rule?

Very interesting that there are some successful cases. We had always aimed for 10 years so in no real hurry but things usually never get easier or cheaper so better to apply as son as you can. Will see if I can find a few cases to study. Thank you I just thought I'd come back and give my experience...

Re: Citizenship after over staying, 5 or 10 year rule?

Thank you,

Even if it reads like the overstay will now get ignored it feels a bit weird that they would relax the rules. As we have no hurry to apply so if it is not something that is now regularly used we have no interest in going first.

Citizenship after over staying, 5 or 10 year rule?

Hi, I'm a dual citizen, German (born) and UK naturalized. My wife is Argentinian and currently on Settled status after a Lounes EFM EEA application, converted to pre-settled and finally made it to settled after 5 years. She over stayed for almost 8 years before the EFM application, she never worked ...

Re: Do dual EU-UK citizens have rights under EU law?

I thought it was interesting to see why their reasoning for why they haven't released the caseworker notes yet. I'm an optimist and think you will all receive your PR cards long before they release the notes. I think that what they are really discussing is how to handle the fact that over several ye...

What a great turn around! After all the stress, I'm very happy for you both. :) EEA has simply worked in your favour. Congratulations Thank you, still can't really believe it. Re: Do dual EU-UK citizens have rights under EU law?

We got out BRP card delivered! Approved as unmarried partners under Lounes.

We used the EEA EFM form that specifically states that it's not valid for family members of British citizens but wrote a cover letter referring to Lounes.

Good luck for the rest of you!

Re: Notice of marriage and pending applications

I would really like some opinions on the matter but I feel the EEA forum would be better suited. Is it OK for me to post a new topic there? Or can I maybe get this post moved over? So, just to clarify, what nationalities does the EEA citizen hold and how were they acquired (at birth, by descent, na...

Re: Notice of marriage and pending applications

We got the "You have complied with the investigation" letter a few days after the 70th day of notice. It was dated on the 65th day. No interview or visit. Now to arrange the wedding. Obviously the letter doesn't mean that they will not interfere and stop the ceremony. So we don't really want to invi...

Re: Notice of marriage and pending applications

The letter asking for details over email is a standard template letter that they send to everyone so it doesn't mean that they will interview you. As your partner is Portuguese and you have lived together for almost 2 years plus having children here I think you will be fine. If they were to pick you...

We did file an EEA EFM application so we have something pending now. Will be interesting to se...
