Re: Youth mobility to skilled worker and dependents

So would he qualify in this scenario for youth mobility? The relevant eligibility requirements in this scenario is set out in immigration rule YMS 5.3 : The applicant must not have any children aged under 18 who are either living with them or financially dependent upon them. In his scenario no. Whi...

If he was to come to the UK alone on the youth mobility, once having found sponsorship for a skilled worker visa, could he theoretically bring his family as dependents?
Yes

Or would that bring up red flags?
No
Have you known someone do this?

Re: Youth mobility to skilled worker and dependents

I'm asking this for a friend of mine, who is married with a wife and child. She works and supports herself and child. ... Despite him not supporting them? I'm assuming they are not still together as she is not sponsoring him to the UK on a route that would lead to settlement? Like the US, the UK al...

Youth mobility to skilled worker and dependents

Hi, I'm asking this for a friend of mine, who is married with a wife and child. She works and supports herself and child. He wants to come to the UK using the youth mobility visa from Australia. It states you can't bring dependents, live with or support dependents. Is being married and having a chil...

Re: ILR Set(M) Financial Requirement - Rental Income

Hi, I thought I'd come back and report the outcome. My ILR was successful! It does appear that the case workers will follow guidance at their discretion for partners applying to ILR through Set(M), who have previously failed to meet the financial requirements for a previous ILR application. It has b...

Re: ILR Set(M) Financial Requirement - Rental Income

Hi, I did read the guide, but I am a bit hesitant to use overseas rental income. I'm not sure if I will be able to get bank statements approved & I really don't want to get refused for ILR again. I just want a simple application & pick the most simple category to satisfy. My husband has been employe...

Re: ILR Set(M) Financial Requirement - Rental Income

Hi Zimba,

Thank you for that. I am actually coming up 600 pounds short, so frustrating!

I have a property overseas, which we also let. Could we combine my husbands rental and my rental, so two rental properties? As we are just shy of meeting the financial threshold with just the one.

Regards

Re: ILR Set(M) Financial Requirement - Rental Income

Hi Zimba,

Thanks for your reply. I would be relying on rental income. So to evidence rental income do I rely on tax years? April 20/21 or 19/20 or 12 months from the date of application submitted? Or any 12 month period? Say from Oct/2019 to Oct/2020. Sorry I am very confused I think.

Re: ILR Set(M) Financial Requirement - Rental Income

Hello,

I would like to clarify the dates the rental income needs to be. If I submit the application today, is it 12 months from todays date? Or any 12 month period I choose to evidence?

Re: ILR Set(M) Financial Requirement - Rental Income

Thanks for the clarification Zimba. We have had two tenancy agreements in a 12 month period and a break of 2 months in-between when one tenant moved out and the other moved in. I believe that should be ok?

ILR Set(M) Financial Requirement - Rental Income

Hello, Just wanted to ask a quick question about using rental income to satisfy the financial requirement. I understand it is rental income before management fees, how about expenses? Also, apart from the monthly rental income, can a bonus/grant be counted as well? It was paid by the council to us f...

Re: ILR refused FM set(M), reapply?

Thanks for this. My application for ILR was refused under D-ILRP1.3. However, leave to remain was granted under D-LTRP1.2. of Appendix FM to the immigration rules, as I met the requirements of paragraph R-LTRP1.1(a),(b) and (d) of these Rules. I understand the conventional rules require 10 year resi...

Re: ILR refused FM set(M), reapply?

With regards to the reconsideration review, the decision was right to not grant me ILR. It was just very bad luck, foresight, stressful pregnancy & birth that lead to us totally forgetting to plan for the ILR application. I'm kicking myself about it now.

Re: ILR refused FM set(M), reapply?

From her post, I understood her husband applied a second time, only to be refused again. They were being asked to pay the NHS surcharge again. Her last few posts, she mentions she wrote a letter and asked for review. I am presuming at that stage, they had not paid the NHS surcharge, technically not ...

ILR refused FM set(M), reapply?

Hi, I need a bit of advice regarding ILR. I have been in the UK for 7 years. My ILR FM set(M) was refused September 2019 as we did not meet financial requirements. Not that we didn't earn enough, my husband started contracting & we had a baby, so I left work. We used our savings to buy a house as we...
