Thanks but I mean is it on the same day of ceremony that we get the certificate or few days later after they send it by post?
The certificate is physically handed over to you at the ceremony.
Thanks. That's good news. So I can apply the same night for a passport ;)

Travel is ok - apply for passport after ceremony (only then you are British).

Travel between citizenship approval and ceremony

Hi All, I have received a call from the council that I have been approved for citizenship and the ceremony is after 2 weeks. I have 2 questions: - Can I travel between now and the ceremony date using my travel document and BRP? - when can I apply for a British passport? Is it on the same day of cere...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

Also wanted to share my experience with UKVCAS. Another negative experience I'm afraid. After I booked an appointment and paid £200 (for a centre that is 1 hour drive for me since it was the only one available within 5 days) they phoned one day before the appointment saying that the centre has techn...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

I applied on 19/12 and enrolled biometrics on 22/12. Today I received the following email from Home Office. I am very disappointed from the centre as I insisted on them to scan all passport pages but the lady insisted that only the first page is required and ignored my request. They were blaming th...

you can also upload by singing in ukvi website by yourself until few months.
I don’t believe this is the case. If you upload anytjing on UKVI website after they submit it to Home Office it stays there on UKVI amd doesn’t make its way to Home Office.

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

Hi for non eu nationals, where do you upload the passport stamps? There seems to be two options: "Residence in the UK" and "Proof of identity/travel history" The scan of your passport (including all stamps, and preferably all pages even if blank) goes under "proof of application" where it is a mand...

Re: British Citizenship - New Online Application

We made our application back at the beginning of December, uploaded scanned docs to the Sopra Steria UKVCAS site, and registered Biometrics in Croydon (with some additional docs they scanned there) on 20th December. It's now Jan 2 and the Sopra Steria / UKVCA Site is still open to log into, and let...

Re: Ex refugee traveling to home country

As per the document in the link above (section 3.3). Once naturalised, you automatically lose the refugee status because you have the protection of your own country now (the UK). So going back to your home country from which you were seeking asylum doesn't automatically mean your new citizenship wil...

Re: SET (Protection) Route applications

Hi All, I sent my application on 13th July and did the biometric enrolment 10 days later and have been receiving regular emails every month. We had sad news as one of our direct family members passed away in our home country. As we can't travel back home to be with our family, we were planning to se...
