Re: Another pre-settled status after the 5 years are up?

Hi Mulder,
I am more or less in a position as yours. Did you manage to reapply by any chance? Interested to hear out what the experience was like.

Regards
Dee

Re: Joining family member definition and reapplying for pre-settled status

See also Lengthy absences from the UK can put EU settled status at risk . Thank you Vinny. The article is very useful. However the examples given are for the EU nationals themselves and doesn't give one for family members hence my confusion. That is precisely why I wanted to know who were considere...

Re: Joining family member definition and reapplying for pre-settled status

Hi Kamoe, Thank you for your response. My understanding was that the clock won't reset after 31 Dec 2020. Hence being a disadvantage for people who have long absence after that. They do have presettled status until the specified date but won't have chance to apply for settled status due to lack of ...

Re: Joining family member definition and reapplying for pre-settled status

I am aware that the status is valid until Nov 2024 but there will be a problem when applying for settled status in Nov 2024 as being absent for more than 12 months won't count towards required 5 year's continuous residence. So my question: is reapplying as joining family member an option for gettin...

Joining family member definition and reapplying for pre-settled status

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone can help me with a bit of unique situation. As per the definitions in Appendix EU, I am struggling to understand if 'joining family member definition' can also be applied to a non-EEA national with presettled status who has long absence over 12 months (Feb 2020 - pr...

Re: Applying under Settlement scheme for non-EEA dependent parent

Hi vpp1981, Thanks for the link. I called a solicitor yesterday only for him to tell me that, 'assumed' dependency is not true and where did I even hear about this. But then again, I suspect that he wasn't up-to-date with these matters as the government guidance does mention this. Shame especially c...

Re: EU settlement scheme and EU Family Permit

Hi @pranab0077 and @lululuna, I just got my mom's (non EEA national) application refused under EEA FP route. Having read from your posts that under EU Settlement Scheme, proof of dependency is not required, I would want to reapply under this scheme. I was unaware of this. I just called a solicitor, ...

Re: EEA National sponsoring non-EEA mother in law

Hi Obie, Many thanks for your reply. Perhaps my way of writing sounded as if we were trying to create an artificial state of affairs and this is not true. My parents are separated. My siblings a brother and sister (sister recently went to Australia for studies) and my mother are all dependent on me ...

EEA National sponsoring non-EEA mother in law

Hi All, Could you please help me with my situation? I am a non-EU national married to an EEA national and was issued a Resident Permit on Dec 2013. I have been living in UK for 10 years now. I want to bring my mom (non-EEA national) from Nepal on the basis of my husband's EEA family permit. My quest...
