Hi guys I'm not sure what's going on. We applied for a settlement visa 5 year route. No problems with documentation. My wife was abroad. Visa granted but strange discrepancy. Visa type is D - PARTNER (STANDARD) The letter she received with passport states (Non standard 2) - because you satisfy the r...

Integration into the UK - Bank Accounts, NI, Provisional License, NHS

Hi Guys, I'm just wondering what are the next steps once my wife arrives to the UK? I guess she needs to register with a GP, open a bank account or joint account, proof of address, national insurance number, provisional drivers license, etc. Can anyone offer guidance on these areas? I am not sure wh...

Re: Urgent question regarding council housing letter

No, it is mortgaged. It looks like from what I have gathered that the inspection is carried out once and is sufficient as it is essentially a written report confirming number of bedrooms, occupants and no overcrowding etc. from a health and safety perspective. The council pretty much confirmed no fu...

Re: Would and Iva affect my spouse visa application?

Getting an IVA will NOT affect your spouse visa application as it is related to your personal finances. Your income is the only requirement as far as the spouse visa is concerned. You must meet the minimum threshold which you do at this present moment in time. Your partners employment/income status ...

Hi guys I am re-applying for a spouse visa and the only document I was worried about is the housing letter. The inspection was originally carried out in July 2017 the housing officer said they don't need to carry out another inspection and will supply a letter to confirm no overcrowding etc. On the ...

Did you put in a prepaid envelope?
Mine took quite a bit of time too, about a couple of months before paperwork was sent back.
I wouldn't worry about it. They have a huge backlog and are under a lot of pressure.

Re: Bank statement transactions

Thanks for the response. Assuming the date of the statements are ok and cover my recent salary payment on the 22nd of December 2017, will this be ok for me to apply for the settlement visa in January? My statements are dated from 28th June until 29th December 2017 which is just over 6 months. I plan...

Re: Re-take IELTS, TB Test, House Inspection

If the documents have expired and the application was rejected then they can no longer be used for submitting a new application. Care to share your circumstances? The housing report must be within 28 days of application date. The tb test must be valid on the date of application. Ielts usually expire...

Bank statement transactions

I've printed the last 6 month bank statements until today's date from my online banking service. I went to the local branch and they stamped signed and dated every single page (current and saving account). Sso I believe this is OK if I am not mistaken. I just had a couple of questions I was hoping s...

Re: FLR(M) SPOUSE VISA EXTENSION(home office put me on 10 year route instead of 5) need helpp please !

The HO can be quite deceitful from what I have observed. They may only notify you of one particular reason whilst failing to disclose another area (it's a card they will keep close to their chest) so they have another reason to reject you on whatever basis should you appeal which will cause more del...

Re: FLR(M) SPOUSE VISA EXTENSION(home office put me on 10 year route instead of 5) need helpp please !

I haven't seen your application so I may be guessing. The only likely explanation is: The home office found a fault elsewhere in the application i.e. you do not meet the full criteria. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/application-to-extend-stay-in-the-uk-as-a-partner-form-flrm Can you chec...

Re: Rejection letter - advice required

Thank you for that. Should I only focus on this area ? Should I perhaps bolster other areas of the application or is there no need? I am worried in the event that perhaps other areas were weak but they marked them as satisfactory and may reject second time in another area? or am i being silly? thank...

Re: Settlement Visa - IELTS Academic score 8.0 (rejected)

Thank you very much for your response guys. I had a chat with a lawyer previously and they mis-advised me (I paid a fee to meet with him). They advised IELTS (Academic) was ok for settlement visa. My wife scored very high and I am surprised this is not sufficient evidence considering IELTS is the bo...
