That procedure is easy as long as you still in possession of a valid IRP.

I recently renewed my status based on Irish citizen child and was given the form to fill at the counter by the immigration officer. No need for a garda to witness the application. You will get stamp 4 for 3 on the basis your Irish child. You don’t need to do anything. Bring your child’s passport and birth certificate along with your GNIB and passport. I got my stamp 4 based on job. But we have an irish citizen child who got irish passport recently. My spouse was on stamp 3 and has changed stamp 3 to stamp 4 which was approved this Sept 2018 for 3 years at the immigration office in Cork.

Stamp 4 renewal

Hi forum members,

I think the best option will be to report at the nearest Irish Embassy or diplomatic representative and present your case to them. They may issue you with a temporary travel document to get to Ireland.
