Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Hello, For people who have had their UKM applications approved - did you receive your invitation for the citizenship ceremony via email or by post? Did it come from the consulate itself or from another agency? About how long after your original acceptance letter did you get the invite for the cerem...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

In my personal experience it's not a problem. It took a couple of months before I got biometric appt. I think it just depends on who is handling your case. I certainly learned that patience is the key. 9 months later I got my British Citizenship yesterday at a ceremony in Houston! Now for the passp...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

They will contact you via email to arrange biometrics after they have received your application. I submitted my application in March and just today received an email explaining how to arrange your biometrics enrollment. Hope that helps!

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Hello everyone, This board has been very helpful! Thanks to all who have posted. My application was received and the money taken from the account about three weeks ago. I'm wondering if people received their request for biometrics through an emailed letter or through the postal service. I haven't g...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Hi,

Congrats! Thank you for the update. I have not yet received anything. May I ask on what date you got email confirmation on your application. My date was March 22.

I'll post here when I get an appointment...hopefully soon. :)

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Hey there Angela! I'm sorry for the delayed response. I have also been waiting for the biometrics request. They received my packet on March 6 but didn't take the money from my account until March 22. They finally acknowledged receipt of the application on March 26. I haven't heard anything yet re: ...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

I had an email saying the application had been received along with a reference number around the time it would have arrived in the UK from the USA. If you look back on the timeline for UKM applications there are so many different experiences!! I was hoping for a couple of months turnaround but that...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Thank you! Another question in regard to this statment on the UKM guidance: you would have had the right of abode in the UK and have become a British citizen on 1 January 1983, if you had become a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies; I was born in the US in 1970. My mother's last UK passport ...

Re: UKM application experience and timeline

Hello, I'm just beginning my UKM application process and have a few questions. Did anyone have to send their mother's expired UK passport or will a birth certificate suffice? Also, I was happy to see in one post that someone sent a notarized copy of their US passport. Did anyone else do this? Thank ...
