I read some of your old posts and it seems you obtained your EEA PR from marriage to your first wife, who was an EEA national.

How long have you and your current wife been married, and when did she move into the household? Was she already living in the UK or did she move to join you?

I have an interesting case, and need some advice before applying. I am a Jamaican/U.S. citizen living in Jamaica with my UK husband. He was born in London, moved to Jamaica at 3, then Bangladesh, Denmark and New York. He moved back to Jamaica in his mid 20's and has been here for the last 15 years....

one thing you can do is go to ireland and get married. you can take a flight to belfast, and then a bus to dublin. The best thing to do is to NOT leave the country when you have an application like this pending. On the other hand, if you mean once he obtains ILR, then I'm sure he would rather get m...

Re: US Citizen with Irish Girlfriend moving to UK - Need adv

1) Should I go somewhere and get my passport stamped with a tourist stamp? I am planning on leaving in June for a couple weeks and then come back. I don't want to get in trouble for not having a stamp. I know that US visitors don't require a visa for less than 6 months, but if US immigration start ...

Who sent the letter, and can you provide details of what they wrote (i.e. what was the error)?

It is unclear which visa you applied for...was it a spouse (settlement) visa or a fiancé visa?

Re: Should an unmarried partner be 21 for family reunion

My son who is 23 has been ranted refugee status. He wants to bring his fiancee who is 20 under family reunion as they have been living together before he fled. After reading about visas on the BIA website, there was something about both parties being over 21. Does this also apply to refugees or is ...

It is possible to get a longer visa validity. However, sometimes with first time applicants (esp. those applying from outside the EU) they would give you a visa with a shorter validity.

I don't know about 3-5 years, though...someone else can clarify.

Being part of EU shouldn't mean that you don't have any restrictions at all on who can come in. Recently I took the Life in the UK test, and somewhere in the prep book it says EU citizens can work elsewhere in the EU 'subject to certain conditions'. Are these conditions just things like no criminal...

Re: Eligibility Q: British Citizenship (Hong Kong) Act 1997

One more question, I read that to apply for British Citizenship via naturalisation, I am required to live in the UK for at least 5 years. I was wondering if going to university under a student visa would account for 4 of those 5 years. No. Only certain work-related visas count towards the five year...

Re: Bit of a complicated situation... any advice?

Right, so here goes... My parents came to the UK in 1994 when I was 4 years old, originally on a tourist visa. As soon as they could (within a year or so) my father was granted a student visa, and got 2 extensions into 2001, then was rejected on grounds that he had done as much studying as possible...

You are not the first to have had very bad service from the Spanish embassy/consulate. They do have a chip on their shoulders....not sure why.

There should be some way to make a complaint (not to the embassy directly, as they'd probably ignore it). Maybe others can share their experiences...
