I would not cancel POE appointment. If it were me I would go for Option - 2. There is no point in claiming more points then required. It would unnecessarily confuse the case worker and would take more time to verify indian salary and bank statement. you have 2 more days to rework on the application ...

Have you claimed Gross dividend or Net dividend for calculating previous earning.

I know it should be Gross Dividend, but few caseworkers consider only Net dividend, how was your experience?

very valid question.
was not sure about second extn, but even I saw in the extn form that point for age is graned based on your age as on your initial grant of tier-1.
So,you should get 10 points.

On a differnt note, Can any body confirm how long is the 2nd extention?
