Re: E vetting and citizenship application

My eVetting was completed and viewed on March 12. I haven't received any updates from the department yet. Is this expected? Anyone else have the same situation?

Re: Citizenship delays: FOI and an application for an Order for Mandamus via the High Courts

Thanks guys :) Hi I got my decision through judicial review on 6 April 2021....my solicitor lodge judicial review on 22 March 202...

Re: *Help Needed* Irish Citizenship by naturalization - Is my calculation of recognizable residency correct?

Not to derail the conversation but the reason for my absence was my wedding. I have all the receipts, invitation card, etc. Do you think providing that can explain the absence? I was also absent in 2017 for 50 days, 30 days of which was a business trip which I have a letter from my previous employe...

Re: *Help Needed* Irish Citizenship by naturalization - Is my calculation of recognizable residency correct?

Oops... forgot to add that you have to deduct entire absence, not only the days over 6 weeks from your calculation if you spent more than 6 weeks per year outside of of Ireland. Are you sure about this? I have checked this with a solicitor and they confirmed only days over 6 weeks per year should b...

Re: Registering a company with Stamp 1

Hi, wattm, In fact, you can register someone with a such stamp in the CRO database. I know the people who successfully did it 5 years ago, but they left Ireland later on. I believe that INIS is probably not checking the CRO database all the time when renewing the stamps. But they could check the Re...

Re: Citizenship application as a company director

Got it. Thanks folks. My understanding about the "Means of support" section is where you get money from (i.e how you pay your bills?). I asked my solicitor as well and they mentioned you don't need to include it if you haven't been paid through the company but I just wanted to know what you guys thi...

Registering a company with Stamp 1

Can holders of Stamp 1 or 1G (Spouse of Critical Skills Work Permit holder) register a company in Ireland (appointed as the director) assuming they won't receive any salary directly from the company?

Tick boxes "Employed" and "Other" in 9.1 and explain your second employment in 9.2
Thanks. One more question, I haven't received any salary from the second company (no payslips, payments, etc). Do I still need to mention it in the form?

Citizenship application as a company director

I have a full-time job and I currently holding Stamp 4. I registered a private company in Ireland two years ago to work on my side-project/startup ideas. I'm applying for Irish Citizenship based on the 5 years rule and my full-time job is my main source of income but I also noticed that in the form ...

Re: Stamp 4 vs PR

LTR is not PR. Ireland does not have a real concept of PR for immigrants under domestic laws. There is a PR for people who exercise EU Treaty Rights. This is the EU3 application. It’s valid for 5 years but can be renewed indefinitely without any further proof. There is also a WCATT Stamp 5 for thos...

Re: Stamp 4 vs PR

A friend of mine mentioned to me that he has PR in Ireland but I was not quite sure what she means. I was wondering if there is any difference between Stamp 4 (Employment/Critical Skills) and Permanent Residency in Ireland? I couldn't find anything on INIS website either. http://www.inis.gov.ie/en/...

Re: Stamp 4 renewal while employed

Your employer must be VAT registered in Ireland, and you must be a PAYE employee. Alternatively, you can be self employed (and employed by the foreign employer). It is in theory possible to renew your status without having a job, if you can prove that you are finally self-sufficient. I am not sure ...

Stamp 4 renewal while employed

My Stamp 4 permission is going to expire soon (previously had Critical Skills Work Permit for 2 years).

My question is, what kind of documents do I need in order to renew my Stamp 4? Do I need to be employed with an Irish employer? Can I work remotely with a US company and still renew my Stamp?

Citizenship application and 6 weeks absence

I'm applying for Irish Citizenship (Stamp 1 and 4 for 5 years) soon but in 2018 and 2017, I was outside the country for more than 6 weeks. About 7 weeks in 2018 and 7 weeks in 2017. I'm wondering if this can cause any issues with my application? Is it best to wait for another two weeks before sendin...

Join Spouse for Critical Skills Work Permit holder

Hello there, I have been living in Ireland for 2.5 years. I'm holding a Critical Skills work permit. My wife has recently applied for a join family visa. I have two questions: 1- She has applied for Visit Friend visa last year and rejected because we were not married at the time. Could this affect t...
