Re: Switch from spouse visa to pre-settled status via Lounes route?

Possible . Thanks, did some research too and it seems possible. I have 2 years time before the current Spouse Visa expires, so I might start the process now and see what happens. I need to give the EUSS Resolution Centre a call for the paper form, right? Hopefully it works, as that would be a good ...

Switch from spouse visa to pre-settled status via Lounes route?

One for the experts, but here's my question: If my partner has a spouse visa (2 years 9 months) which was granted to her because I sponsored her as a British Citizen, can she then change this visa to a pre-settled status via the Lounes route from inside the UK? I became a British citizen in 2018, bu...

Re: Do you need to send physical passport after submitting your online application?

No originals are sent in. All scanned and uploaded digitally. This is asked almost daily on the forum. Double checking. The instructions imply otherwise, it can be interpreted equally to mean "send" and "do not send" at the same time. HO communications are a true nightmare. Also, a solicitor is not...

Re: Refused citizenship because of permanent residence

Does the blue card specifically say "Document Certifying Permanent Residence" as its title?

There are two blue cards, one is just a registration card and it's not a valid document that certifies permanent residence.

For 10 years you are probably going to require this form: https://www.gov.uk/get-proof-employment-history

If you call them, they can go back up to 5 years usually.

That's just a regular stop and check. They haven't found irregularities so nothing to mention. If you want to double check, just check your driving licence records on the DVLA website: https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence

Re: MN1 - Registration as British Citizen - Documents to provide

1. Does the born abroad child hold PR/settled status?? 2. Are either of the parents applying for citizenship? 3. How old is the child? 1. Yes, the child has PR. 2. The parents aren't applying, registration under discretion of the Home Secretary: https://www.immigrationboards.com/british-citizenship...

MN1 - Registration as British Citizen - Documents to provide

Applying for British Citizen for a child under 18 at the Home Secretary's Discretion. Child born in the EU, Parents are EEA citizen with DCPR. The application is complete but unsure about the documents to send. Do you need to provide evidence of residency such as bills / bank statements? In the list...

Re: Naturalisation and Residency Requirement for EU/EEA

You will still be required to provide evidence of residence for the past 5 years even if your PR document is recent. I had to provide again evidence such as letter from employer, etc. Simply having the DCPR wasn't enough, even though I became PR in 2016 and applied in 2017.

Re: EEA Family Permit - Address change

In the last two years he moved to Cambridge for work but he kept his address in London where he lived previously and he would come back when he had time off from work. What exactly does this mean? Do all his Cambridge payslips show a London address? How about his P60s? This is important. His paysli...

EEA Family Permit - Any continuous employment required?

My friend is going to apply for a EEA Family Permit for his spouse currently residing outside the EU. He has been living in the UK since 2013-2014. He currently has two lawful jobs, one as his main employment (Company A) and the other one to supplement his income further (Company B). Before starting...

EEA Family Permit - Address change

Hi, this specific case regards a friend of mine. He is an EEA citizen and has been living in the UK since 2014. When he first arrived he started living with some relatives in London and worked there. In the last two years he moved to Cambridge for work but he kept his address in London where he live...

Re: Life in UK certificate not returned

@nadworks PR is backdated to when you actually qualify for permanent residency, so it depends on when you apply for it. They normally send a letter along with the PR card, stating when you actually acquired permanent residency (which is most likely much earlier than the date they issued the PR card ...

Re: British Citizenship for Minor

Thanks for confirming CR001, that is what I could gather as well. I guess their only option is for one of the parents to apply so the daughter can be registered as British citizen too, or simply wait until she turns 18 and applies on her own. In the latter case, even though she has studied in the UK...

British Citizenship for Minor

Not my case specifically, but about friends. They are EEA Citizens and have a daughter who is 15 this year. Born in a EU country (not the UK) and has lived in the UK with the parents for over 8 years now. Can the daughter apply for British citizenship on her own before she becomes 18? Due to the cos...

Re: Passport Application - uncancelled Password

They need the passport because they will only issue a passport if your name matches exactly the name they have. If your other passport has a slightly different name, they will reject your passport application until you get the country to sort out your name.

Re: Reconsideration letter: 5 years back from day of application not in the uk

You guessed it right. I mentioned it on another post a few weeks back. You have been sent another declaration to sign and date, effectively making your application start 5 years back from the new sign date. There is no special circumstances here. Don't worry. This exact thing happened to a person I ...

EEA citizens effectively need to be residing in the UK for six years, not five. Does he have PR? Your only practical option is to wait until 2025. There are less practical options, but they are very likely doomed expensive op...

Re: University won't confirm presence in the UK

For my application, my university simply provided a letter saying when my programme commenced and when I successfully completed the programme. The letter never stated that I attended university. They accepted the letter and I was naturalised within two months from my application.
