Re: possibly moved to stage 2?

The response you got is a generic response. I got that each time I enquired about my application. I didn’t get a second stage letter until after 8 months. Three weeks from the second stage letter I received my approval.

Re: Next Ceremony 26th November at Killarney

If your invitation reads something like pay 950, submit photos GNIB etc. to be Included in the ceremony that means you will be attending the upcoming ceremony. If does not make mention of the ceremony it means you will be looking at other future ceremonies.

Hi Grace,

That's great to hear. I've photocopy the updated gnib and I've posted them today. Do u think I should email it to them also or posting them is enough. I didn't register post, it's normal post I sent them.

Thanks,

Ash
I will scan and email them as well. There’s no harm in doing so.

Re: references not related to you

When I filled out my application, I had my two brother-in-laws give me reference as Irish Citizens and I had no issues at all with it.

Re: Meaning of a letter from Citizenship Department

If you have renewed your GNIB card, send them a copy ASAP. Since they wrote you a letter requesting it I would imagine that’s the only thing holding their final decision. For all you know, your approval could be lying on someone’s table waiting for you to respond 😄

Re: delay in citizenship application - applied in 2016

It is such a painful process waiting that long. No one knows exactly how they process applications. I would say write them a formal letter by post instead of emails. Emails are most times generic but with letters, the department handling your case will respond to you directly and hopefully provide y...

Best of luck to everyone. Wow, that’s mental! Apparently it’s true then. Happy for you all guys. Just hope that there’l...

Re: Ceremony dates?

They always had ceremonies in Dublin but they also had a small one in Limerick. We can’t predict how they function we can only speculate. All we need to do is wait and see. I was previously told back in May when I visited my local GNIB office that a ceremony is likely to be in September. Last time I...
