Croydon Parking

Yeah you are right, parking is quite busy specially if you are coming in midday. These parking lots are being used as well by nearby offices and shoppers of the mall. If you intend to bring your car, it's safer to come early so you'd be able to comfortably look for a space.

Request for the passport

From reading your post and the way they are handling it- you seem to be right that they might have reconsidered it and are requesting for the passport so that the stamp be issued. That was the case with my then single sister in law who was refused a tourist visa- and when the appeal and review was d...

CB for HSMPLover

Great... the long wait is finally over for you. Now all you have to do is wait for the payment to come in and then after 1 month, they'd send you the Child Trust Fund Voucher of £250 and the pack that would explain how to work it out. Yeah that's the most the CB office could ever give to us or any ...

Newuser

Hi Newuser11, Have you received their confirmation letter? You are supposed to receive one - it's just a letter of advice that they are done with the processing and you should expect another letter as to when and how much you'd receive for the 1st payment. Hope you'd get it soon - anyway if they say...

Reference Number

As you are submitting your documents you shouldn't worry too much about the reference number. Give them the latest- which is your Tier 1. From there they'd be able to access the rest of your history/file.

Good luck!

Cheers!

Child Trust Fund benefit

Ok got the answer from the government helpline itself. Just wanted to share... as it goes, my younger son qualifies for the CTF not because of the place where he is born but because of the date he was born. The 4 primary rules to qualify for this are the following: -your child was born on or after 1...

Date of receipt

Kssantosh,

Trust what the NCS told you. HO counts the day they received the application - not counting the day NCS received it from you.

Good luck on your submission. Hope it's going to be smooth sailing.

Hi, guys how's everything at your end (HSMPLover, munisa, anotherspouse and Rex). Hope you guys have gotten a clearer info from HMRC. As for my family... Ambiguity of the list

You are very right in saying that it's pretty odd that they are inconsistent with the guidelines that they provided - and this is not the first time such issuewas raised (i.e. doctor not being listed on the rundown of referees- but in the general guideline it is mentioned). Anyway, if you would sear...

Doctors are definitely of professional standing and are ok to be used as a referee for as long as they know you for at least 3 years; and that they are willing to act as your referee. In fact, for some surgeries, doctors charge a fee to be a referee. This must be an oversight from UKBA as registered...

Applying for ILR or not

It is your cousin's discretion if she wants to go through the ILR route for her child. But as mentioned, the baby could go through straight to registration and save herself the fees- simply because he is "entitled" to be registered being born in UK. But Parvus1202 is right, get her son here in UK fi...

Eligibility of a child born in UK

Please check the guideline for registering a child for british citizenship: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/applicationforms/nationality/guide_mn1.pdf Kindly go to page 8- child born in the UK. With the scenario that you've given, the person would need to mention the weeks-months that he had no permanent address at the start of his stay (and just make a note that details/explanation is in the further info page); and if he/she is receiving posts/correspondences with a hotel address where he...

Spending time out of UK

Well, one should ensure that he/she was IN the UK exactly 5years ago when the HO receives his/her application form for Naturalisation. That's one of the major pitfalls of other applicants- this is one of their requirement. As for mentioning other addresses- including that of friends', for the past 5...

Refund or no refund

Smartwave, Reading on your post, you've been backdated as of 22.06.09- meaning your qualifying year started 22.06.2005- that only means that you landed in the UK nearly 5 months after your approval. Then the 2nd extension would have been necessary for you to be able to stay here legally. In effect, ...

Changing Ceremony Venue

Unfortunately, it's no longer a matter of choice where to hold your ceremony if you have already submitted your Form (AN)/ Naturalisation application. You'd have to proceed to the council that you placed on the form. And if you did not specify any, then your papers are automatically sent to your hom...

Fast Tracking 1st Passport

Unfortunately there's none. Everyone has to go through the whole process the same way. Well, 4-6 weeks is just a service level commitment from IPS, that could go quicker than one would expect. Just a suggestion, when you're done with the ceremony be sure that your application for 1st PP is ready to ...

Hi Sidster007, I took it in Norwich our home council, as I didn't specify in our form AN that we wanted the ceremony done in another council. Well, the next available public ceremony here is still in 2 Dec. when we phoned the council, so we checked on the private one which they do every Wednesday (v...

Mads, Thanks for sharing your experience. I know that it might have been annoying for you to go through such an officer - but I must say that you have made it appear comic in someway. 2 Year relocation assignment after citizenship

I hope someone could help on this possibility of relocating due to work assignment to our country of origin. I must say that this wasn't planned. The probability of my husband getting such an assignment just cropped up last week- right smack during the week we had our private ceremony. Their company...
