Re: Working in US for a French Company

You'd have to live in France. If you are willing to move, live, and work in France, yes there is another visa you can get. Basically here it how it goes: There are two main categories. Short stay (up to 90 days within a 180 day period) or long stay (longer than 180 days in a year). You already get t...

Re: Working in US for a French Company

You can't get a work permit if you are not living in France. You already have the right to travel to the EU visa-free for business and pleasure. I am discussing working as a senior executive and part equity owner of a startup company in France. My job would be primarily based in the US as a client m...

Re: Does 10 year long residency duration count in 2 different countries?

I'd advise you to research in to this more but from what I know, you have to live for 10 years and during this period you must hold permanent residency for 5 years. So there are 2 conditions to fulfill. But your friend should check with authorities in case there might be other options. Sorry I was s...

Re: Applying as self-sufficient with non-EEA spouse

No problem. Authorities decide the length. There isn't a certain guide. If everything's in order, in general the residence permit is given for a period of 5 years. You have to show that you are self sufficient for at least a year to apply for your non-EU spouse's registration / residence permit. Oh ...

Re: Applying as self-sufficient with non-EEA spouse

Hello, You can go and stay in any EU country unconditionally for 90 days. After that registration procedure for the EU spouse depends on the country. They are same as their own citizens as they will be to you. To stay longer than 90 days you have to prove that you are self-sufficient, or have a job,...

Re: Proving right to work for non-EU spouse?

Copy of EU directive 2004/38/EC where rights are clearly explained. My non-EU spouse's potential company (in Spain) is asking her to prove that she is able to work here, but she doesn't have any papers to do so. But understandably, her company are hesitant to hire her without feeling secure that she...

Re: Direct descendents settlement start date

The date EEA family member began living with their EEA family is the date they started living. You'd have to prove it though. Over 21 dependant son living in UK (direct dependant), receiving money from father in South Africa to provide support (2013 onwards) Father arrives in UK - Feb 2014 Dependant...

Re: Spain vs Ireland: Citizenship application for Latin American

Assuming that you would be off to Dublin, you should know that it is expensive. You probably won't find the weather very nice either. And life in Dublin is nothing like people imagine it to be. You'd also need to wait there a long time to get your permanent application processed. Spain is reasonably...

Yes, for the time being British remain to be EU citizens and the UK remains a full member of the EU with rights and obligations.

Re: British Citizen in France want to sponsor parents

No problem. Happy to help. Just one last tip: Make sure the lawyer is well versed with the EU directive 2004/38/EC. That's where your EU citizen friend derives the right of free movement (eg, move to France) and to be with his family (ie, bring them over). Hi Caravel, Really appriciate your comments...

Re: British Citizen in France want to sponsor parents

The law states that the authorities have upto 6 months to issue the residence permit. The actual time it takes will depend in which department they apply. It can be a 3 weeks or 3 months. I doubt it will take 6 though. During this time they can live without a problem. The RC can be valid for 1, 2 or...

Re: British Citizen in France want to sponsor parents

The most important thing is that he must be able to prove that his parents are truly his dependants. Things like bank records dating several months proving that he pays for them are crucial for this. His parents can apply to join him from abroad or come as a tourists to visit him and apply for resid...
