Re: Settled status = dependency still?

There is no such application as to retain your rights. You apply for settled status based on retained rights which you get if you correspond to the conditions: 1. Married for 3 years 2. Living for 1 year in the UK. But if you have been residing for 5 years as a spouse of EU citizen and in the middl...

Re: ukranians in the uk

That is a really strange situation, they live here like they have ilr already and after the marriage everything will start over again. İ am not sure what happens, a few people saying that ukba let you apply ilr straight away but i doubt it. I highly doubt that - UKVI is always saying this scheme do...

Re: EU Scheme Pre-Settlement Divorce

Kamoe OK, I need to correct something: She might be eligible to switch to Settled Status when she completes her 5 years, as domestic violence victims don't need to meet the condition of still being a family member of a EU citizen. However, the central answer holds: she won't be able to sponsor anyon...

Re: Immediate family members will be able to join Ukrainians in UK

I think you may need to exercise some patience. Of the over 5000 Ukrainian visa application submitted so far, only 50 has been granted so far. Hi Obie, unfortunately, they are so frightened and stressed that I am worried about their health..They just became homeless without income etc.. That's why ...

Re: Immediate family members will be able to join Ukrainians in UK

Usually when the Immigration rules define people with presettled status, it does not usually includes non-EEA national, it is actually referring to EEA national. Re: Immediate family members will be able to join Ukrainians in UK

Regarding the crossing border of Northern Ireland, I was just curios whether is it possible to apply from there. I just can't clearly think now, sleep-deprived. As far as I understand there is no "crossing border" with Northern Ireland. As per the Good Friday Agreement, there can't be any hard bord...

Re: Immediate family members will be able to join Ukrainians in UK

Things are really tough for Ukrainians and I hope they get to safety. However one must not lose sight to the plight of poor African and Asian students, who simply went to Ukraine to get a better and cheaper education. Their plight and present treatment by unpleasant border guards must not be forgot...

Re: Immediate family members will be able to join Ukrainians in UK

What the UK government says in press statement and to its media, is different from what the do in practice. I think Ukrainians are best advised to go to Ireland, where they will be better received. I have been trying to get through the UK embassy, to assist families in Ukraine. I have been on the p...

Re: Immediate family members will be able to join Ukrainians in UK

Any advice? We can't really tell you what to do, so please do not interpret this as immigration advice. From a purely personal perspective, what I would do, given that the EU appears to have adopted an open doors policy, while the UK is unsurprisingly lagging behind; it would not be a bad idea to t...
