In addition to user 'max307' correct and detailed post (as it applies to the UK as well), user 'saeef' kindly desist from spamming the forum. We are all well aware of the EU regulations and how it actually works in practice in different states!! Perhaps you should concentrate on the refused UK Ance...

Re: Permission to live and work for EU national and Non-EU spouse

Make sure when you apply for the visa to select family of eu citizen. this will grant you the rights when you land. If you just apply for a regular visit visa this is different. My understanding is that you can work on day one that you arrive on visit visa under EU family selected in the applicatio...

Re: British Citizen with a non EU wife

The quotes of your posts below are what is incorrect. British citizenship gives no automatic entitlement to apply for an Irish passport or Irish citizenship and doesn't have anything to do the agreement either. 68.1% of the Irish population don't qualify for the medical card and have to pay for cer...

Re: British Citizen with a non EU wife

I am about to do this also from Bahamas. So far from reading the posts and calling the Embassy of Ireland in Canada you have to apply for a C Visa for your wife under EU directive 2004/38/EU. This is what I applied for on the website. After you get the visa and arrive in Ireland (you can be there fi...

Dna test with supporting docs ancestry visa

Hello, I had to do a dna test for my son because he didn't have a birth certificate due to error. I have included the results with his supporting docs for his second ancestry visa application. First was refused because the affidavit of birth was not sufficient. Do I have to also request the lab to s...

Re: Ancestry visa refused for birth affidavit

A DNA test should be acceptable. 186.The requirements to be met by a person seeking leave to enter the United Kingdom on the grounds of his United Kingdom ancestry are that he: (i) is a Commonwealth citizen; and (ii) is aged 17 or over; and (iii) is able to provide proof that one of his grandparent...

Re: Ancestry visa refused for birth affidavit

What do you mean an affidavit, from who or where saying what? A birth cert is mandatory for ancestry visa and is not the same as an affidavit as far as I am aware. Hello. In the Bahamas if you do not get a birth certificate within a certain amount of time after the birth you can never again get a b...

Ancestry visa refused for birth affidavit

Hello, my son's ancestry visa got refused because he never got a birth certificate and has to use an affidavit which he used to get his Bahamas passport. They claimed that this is not enough proof to show that he has blood ties to my father who is British born. Is this really a good enough reason? I...
