Re: Cut up old BRP

I was hoping so too, but it doesn't. It says if I change my details then I need to cut up this one and send back for a new one...

What about the old one I have now though?

Cut up old BRP

I received my ILR approval letter and new BRP card today in the post. Do I have to cut up my old BRP and send back to the home office, or is that only when you apply for citizenship?

English test not acceptable

I'm currently in the process of gathering all documentation for my ILR SET (M). I've used a lawyer to help check all of my documents, but they he has said: The English language test you have taken is no longer sufficient for this application as the list of approved tests has since been updated. Plea...

English test over 2 years old

I've started preparing all of my documentation for the SET (M) ILR application, but had a question about the English requirement. When originally applying for my first UK spousal visa back in 2013 and then applying for the following 2.5 years in 2016 I used the below certificate proving that I have ...

Re: ILR application - wife has maiden name in passport

It is not an issue. There is no legal requirement in SA or the UK that the surname and official documents must be changed after marriage. Ah that is such great news, thanks CR001! Just so I'm not misunderstanding, I can submit the letters with my surname on both our first names and then my wife's p...

ILR application - wife has maiden name in passport

Hi all, I'm currently due to apply for my ILR in March. I've tried to be prudent and start the application process a bit ahead of time to save on the stress. One of the requirements is to have 6 letters with either both of our names on it or 12 with single names on each. I have a load of letters, bu...

Re: Certified marriage certificate

Thanks anyway all, I was able to find the answers to these questions.

1) If the marriage certificate was accepted in the initial visa application, it will be accepted in the Indefinite Leave to Remain application.

2) You can only apply 28 days before it expires.

Thanks!

Re: Certified marriage certificate

Any help on these two questions would be much appreciated guys.

Do I need to have the certificate certified in the UK too and when would be the best time for me to start the application process to stay in the UK indefinitely?

Certified marriage certificate

Hi there, I have two questions and hopefully they are easy to answer. Today I went to apply for a Schengen visa and the gentleman there said he could not give me the "free spousal route" as my South African marriage certificate has not been certified in the UK yet. This got me a bit worried as I am ...
