Re: delay in citizenship application - applied in 2016

According to INIS, in May 2019 there were 763 applications still waiting from 2016 (out of 13,000). Do you have the link? And if you go back to December 2018, there were 768 waiting from 2016. So a reduction of 5 in ~5 months... at this rate it will take 60 years to clear! https://www.oireachtas.ie...

Re: delay in citizenship application - applied in 2016

Have you contacted your TD or written to the department of justice to seek an update or explanation? I did it last year. TD got the same copy paste reply. No gain. TD cant do anything. If you know you are a genuine applicant and confident about your case so come forward and take a legal action in t...

Re: delay in citizenship application - applied in 2016

These delays are unreasonable: I believe that is about time somebody takes this matter to court. There is a precedence for that. As mentioned in the following link, EU law requires the processing to be completed in 6 months. http://www.thejournal.ie/high-court-allows-immigrants-to-challenge-ministe...

Re: delay in citizenship application - applied in 2016

Just got a reply from Dept of Justice through a Solicitor, where we had threatened them that we will proceed with judicial Review after receiving copy of my file under FOI. They replied the same shi***. That for a broad range of reasons some cases take longer than others.. Blah blah... and that if ...

Re: delay in citizenship application - applied in 2016

No I didn’t send anything or any FOI, they even didn’t ask for any docs. TBH I don’t know or think of any reason why it took so long. Congrats upon on your approval. You are lucky that finally your wait is over. I am still waiting for almost 3 years. Rang them yesterday and the same story waiting f...

Re: delay in citizenship application - applied in 2016

You are lucky atleast you approved. I am waiting for 3 years and delay is killing me. Don't know how long this going to be. I have never got any objection from department neither they asked me any documents.

Re: delay in citizenship application - applied in 2016

Hi. That’s really sad. Would you please let me know how did you ask for copy of your file through solicitor or on your own by sending them email? And how many days did it take? Hi Lily3... I applied through a solicitor, although you can apply for that yourself and it took them exactly one month to ...

Re: delay in citizenship application - applied in 2016

The first time they told me that my application was on the final stage is in late January or early February. The last time is on 7 March. - Give or take, it's about 5-6 weeks. It may have been on the final stage before that, but I didn't call them during December so I don't know. The first time the...

Re: delay in citizenship application - applied in 2016

Yes I call them a few times in the past two months. Not sure why your solicitor asked you not to contact the department. Phone calls won’t have a direct impact on your application anyway as they are a different team. Call them in the morning. Ask specifically if your application is on the final che...

Re: delay in citizenship application - applied in 2016

Looks like we have no news. 2017 Oct got some approvals on here. I hope everyone of us will get the approval letter soon. Its really devastating that it looks like 2016 Applicants are exempt to get this privilege. I haven't seen anyone got approved who applied in 2016 (including me). We all should ...

Re: delay in citizenship application - applied in 2016

For the last ceremony (26/11/2018) the approvals came out around 22/10 or 35 days before the ceremony. That would mean for ceremony on 29/4/2019 the approvals would be out on 25/3... so still a couple of weeks to wait. Hi guys!! I dont see any hope to get approval for this ceremony on 29th. God kno...
