Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

Hi, I would wonder to hear if you met with any application for naturalisation through settled status being rejected due to lack of CSI in the case when the applicant was a student or self-sufficient person. We are all scared now, but to be honest, does it really happen? I read a number of recent st...

Re: Does free movement apply when returning to country of nationality “indirectly”?

We used to live in the UK a few years ago—my wife still has a EU family member's residency card, which will due to Brexit invalidate itself soon. After that we have lived for the past couple of years in my wife's country of citizenship in South America. Now we would like to return to my country of ...

Re: Advice needed for Aussie with Italian partner, hoping to move to Italy from the UK

Hello! Hope everyone is well and keeping safe during these strange times. I'm in need of some advice regarding a bit of a complex situation regarding immigration for both the UK and Italy. I had hoped to post in both the "UK non-tier" and "immigration to other countries" forums ...

Re: Moving to Italy with unmarried non-EU partner

Hello, I am a British citizen who would like to move to Italy with my American (opposite sex) partner before the Brexit deadline at the end of this year. I understand the requirements for me to gain residency there but I'm not sure whether my partner would also be able to apply at the same time on ...

Re: whats the best way to stay an EU citzen after brexit?

I am from the UK am confused about the whole thing? It depends what you want to do, you still have time to move to a EU country like Ireland and apply for residence, applications made before the end of the year should count for the 5 years towards permanent residence. You can see if you can apply f...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

EEA citizens do not require visa that is for non EEA No. The above also includes EU/EEA citizens! The fact that EEA citizens do not need a visa as a result of EU Freedom of Movement, along with other privileges they enjoy, does not mean they are not subject to immigration rules! These rules as well...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

Good character: nationality policy guidance (2 October 2020), section "Immigration related issues". People who are entitled to reside in the UK under the EEA Regulations 2016 do not require leave to enter or remain. In assessing whether a person has complied with immigration requirements ...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

Excuse mee but that doesn't say what you said In assessing whether a person has complied with immigration requirements over the previous 10 years, you must take into account whether they were subject to the EEA Regulations 2016 or the Immigration Act 1971 and whether they complied with the relevant ...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

the issue with the 10y GCR requirement The good character is 10 years regardless, It has always been there, nothing has changed, the only new thing is Settled Status that's why imho they updated the guideline. They didn't change the naturalisation regulations, they only added up a bit of clarity fo...

How is it any different to what my previous post- I don't know.
It's because you said 'but not being in breach of immigration laws at any time during past 10 years' which should be 'complying with EU immigration law at any time during past 10 years'

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

It's not written like that, it's written to assess lawful 5 years residency under the EU regulations within the past 10 years, which is a bit different to what you said

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

clearly caught by this because I have been here for 9 years, the first of which I was a student with no CSI In my opinion 'caught by this' is for non-EEA people who can overstay and have an expired visa. For EEA citizens is proving 5 years lawful residence in any period of the 10 years. Since 15 of...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

It applies to: - all decisions made on or after 14 January 2019 which are as a result of a person’s association with war crimes or extremism - all new applications for citizenship made on or after 14 January 2019[/i] This is more likely an indication for the Guidance not for the update considering ...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

''Unfortunately there is no way of knowing for sure'' The May 15 update was applying to applications made after that date, in fact on previous forms was not even asked to provide CSI Now this new update should follow the same rules in fact on the form (before this update) there's nowhere where to pr...

Re: Brexit app for EU nationals won't work on iPhones

It won’t work on all android phones either but only on NFC enabled smartphones, the other doubt I have is the compatibility with different 27 EU counties passport chips ... are they all compatible with this new app? Recent iphones with ios 11 are supporting NFC not sure if it depends on the way an a...
