Yep, got knocked back for proof of name. I made sure one of my ID documents had my full name on it, and was from a central government dept. Do the e-mails start with this for yours etc? Not sure if I need to send more than proof of name in. "Thank you for using our online service. We have noticed a...
I'm not counting my chickens yet - I could be knocked back! I personally haven't contacted them, and from I've read on twitter, I wouldn't advise it. But as mentioned by others previously, people who ask "any problems?" as opposed to "where's my passport" seem to have a positive result. makaako doc...
My son was applying for his first Irish passport and after three months of waiting, they sent us an email requesting ITIA legal translation for his birth certificate. We have submitted the same certified translation as we used for his naturalisation. It was good for getting citizenship but not good ...
Hello Guys, I received approval for my child on 10th June. The application was submitted in February 2019. I submitted fee and other documents on the same day and today I received email that certificate fee process completed and that certificate will be posted with 2-3 working days. Has anyone else...
For parents who think they are waiting for a very long time, I applied my child for naturalization in June 2018 and we are still waiting. For the last query to the office, we got an only response that during Covid-19 everything is super slow, be patient. Now, this waiting will cost me thousands of ...

I'm not the original poster, but I was interested in the same thing a few years ago. Long story short, my parents were working in Syria for 3 years in the late 70s. That is the place where I was born. In fact, I'm not a Syrian national, as well as my parents. But in my Irish passport, I have the wor...
My son is waiting since June 2018, so don't worry about your 2019s applications. Hi, alexkiran, What age is your son? We are on the same boat. I am waiting since July 2018. He is 18 now... He was 16 when we applied. I called them recently, they told me the application is waiting for the mini...
You must renew it as the card should be valid on the date of the ceremony. Usually, they are asking to show an invitation to the ceremony, but I suppose in the current situation the letter requesting to pay €950 might be sufficient for GNIB office.
It seems they do not process any applications until waiting for the court appeal results. So, its unpredictable now. A year ago minors application were processed in about 6 months.
Hi All, I submitted the application for my son on the first week of July 2018 When he is over 16 years old. I am waiting for the decision nearly a year.Any one having similar experience? I have. I applied for son (16y) in June 2018, got nothing. I know they have a different process for teenagers, f...
There is no news about minor approvals, sorry. I have a question, maybe somebody knows the answer as our situation shouldn't be unique. I applied for my child's naturalization about a year ago. The child was 16 years old at the time of the application, but while we are waiting for the outcome I gues...
It is not a date of the post, it's a date of signature of your application with your solicitor. That's important! If you will sign before the right period of time your application will be declined. No matter when you post it.
Is there hope if I received the letter asking for Draft, photos and GNIB on Oct.23 to be included for this ceremony on the 26 or is that very unlikely? I sent all my docs next day after receiving the letter. fingers crossed. That's quite possible. My wife received her approval on 16/04 and had been...

I have an odd question. By the facts, the office posts all approval letters by regular post. In very rare circumstances a letter may be lost in transit. So, now my question. Imagine your letter was lost, you don't know about it, the office doesn't know about it, you didn't send them a 950 fee and yo...
