Re: Citizenship Applications From 2020 Pending Approval

I sent them the Garda vetting form 2 weeks ago. How long generally they take to process it and what will be the next step?

Re: Children naturalization application

I don’t think your move to UK will affect your child’s application. As you mentioned your child is in Ireland, attending school, most likely has a GP here (sometimes department asks for further letters from school or G). You don’t need to inform the department about your move to UK as you are alread...

Re: Children naturalization application

Got letter in October-November 2020 to submit fee and photographs which I sent. Got email replay in December that it will be sent in next 2-3 weeks.
Since then complete silence. Ridiculous functioning of department. Can’t figure out what is reason of delay in printing the certificate.

Re: Children naturalization application

Lately the department has been asking docs to be submitted again and again and at times the same docs as well.
So as long as you are okay to response to such requests from the department.

Re: Citizenship - Request For Documents Already Sent

This is not unusual thing from them. They can ask the same document and once you provide them after few months they can again ask the same thing. I can’t get the sense behind this but have seen this with many applicants. In this case if they are My suggestion is that you need to provide same explana...

Re: Waiting 7 months for minor kids certicate of naturalisation after approval letter

They sent approval letter for my child in October 2020 and I submitted fee and photographs. They are not able and capable of simply issue the certificate for minors. This shows the pathetic approach of department and how slow is their working ( if they still call it working of their department).

Re: Children naturalization application

I submitted fee and photographs in Nov and still awaiting. For the minors the delay in issuing the certificate is unimaginable and reveals the state of affairs in this department and efficiency of govt as a whole.

Re: Next Ceremony

Hi, Don’t worry. They just copy and paste emails. so don’t take any word from this office as a confirmed news. It happened to me during my own application couple of years ago and also now recently with my child’s application. For my child application I sent them an email last month. they did not rep...

Re: Children naturalization application

It took about 3 weeks to get passport and acknowledgment in August 2019. However when I applied for my 2nd child in February this year it took about a month. I suppose it’s the current circumstances due to COVID which are delaying all the process. I would suggest email them to enquire.

Re: Stamp 4 on Irish spouse

TBH I am not sure will they take or weave the fee on the basis is of your certificate in the absence of Irish Passport.
Rule says spouse of Irish nation does not pay fee for GNIB...I would suggest to take all the correspondence/receiptS if you have already applied for the passport . Best wishes

Re: Stamp 4 on Irish spouse

I have almost same scenario. You don’t need to pay for her GNIB renewal as you are Irish national. They will need original utility bill on her name(as proof of her address), original expired GNIB/IRP Card, your Irish passport (original), if there is any job/Registration authority involved then its d...
