I am wondering the same thing. But that is what I was told by a lady over the phone. I took it to mean that the application had been referred to the UK.....or something along those lines.

Could this be the final stage? For those in the know... :)

Thanks

Knowledge Of the New Rules (and concessions)

Hi I wasnt sure where to address this so decided to create a new post. I am about to submit my application for a spousal visa, finally, but would like some advice on whether it would be a wise idea to include in my cover letter that fact that I am aware of the new rules, especially the concessions w...

Out of curiosity, has the rule 320 7A always existed? Has 7B been introduced to support it?

Re: first 10 year exclusion decison letter seen

For anyone who's interested this is the standard wording on a refusal letter I've just seen (reprinted with permission and dates changed). Your application fails to be refused under paragraph 320(7B) of HC 395: (7B) where the applicant has previously breached the UK's immigration laws by: (a) overs...

Thanks for the link....

Ok does that mean, if you left the UK voluntarily at your own expense, 12 months ago, the ban doesn't apply to you?

Ok so the new rules have come into effect and apply to everyone who left before 1st April. Now the rules say that one will be bammed for up to 1,5 or 10years from when they left the UK. Am I correct to say them that if you apply 1 year after you left, you can not be banned? Or will the ban run for a...

Hi

Can anyone tell me what causes the delay in non straight forward applications? I mean I am aware that they refer the application to the HO in the UK, but why does that necessarily have take long? Or does it depend on the number of applications being refered at that time?

Hi mOOOn,

I hope you are still searching this board, coz I have a question to ask you. I wanted to know if your husband told the truth about his overstay in the application. 10 days is a very short time according to alot of the other cases!!!! I am hoping mine will be just as short :D

Hi everybody, I am hoping someone could shed some light on this. I was wondering if after you have 'served' your ban, your application is proccessed under the normal rules? Is the overstay no longer an issue after this point? Thank you. P.S. I am thrilled that SYH has been banned...its about time. T...

Sorry to hear about the refusal, ClaireM. I hope you are successful in your appeal.

Can you tell me how long it was after you submitted your application that you received your results?

Keep the faith.

Well this would be additional income from a second job. We will provide six months bank statements from his older job. The income from the older job covers all expnses.

Waiting for another 3 months is not something we want to do. We have been apart for too long!!!

I disagree.
Its a reality check.
When people start to own up to their situation, then they will be in a better position to defend it.

Thanks for the clarification, Mr Rusty.

So just out of curiosity, would it be advisable to make clear that we are aware of these laws in the letters included in our application or would it be detrimental? Maybe interpreted as 'cockyness'?

Thanks for that information Mr.Rusty, now I might be a bit slow but my understanding of what you have just said is basically, if you left voluntarily and have been away for a year by the 1 April 2008 then you would be considered for entry clearance?

Hi

Could someone please clarify something for me. Do the new rules mean that if an overstayer has been back in their home country ,for any amount o time, provided they make an application after 1 April 2008, it will be rejected due to the bans?
