Re: New citizenship form UKF

Sunburn, you are right about the requirements around waiting for the invitation letter. I double checked the UKF guide and the rule is that one needs to attend the ceremony within three months of the invitation. Thank you for correcting me.

Re: New citizenship form UKF

I'm from the USA as well (30 minutes away from the DC embassy) and got my approval letter on 9 November, still waiting for ceremony invite. I'm terrified something's been lost somewhere along the way. Well, it appears to take about 2 months from approval to invitation for UKM/UKF registrants in the...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

Hi Sunburn, I see your flag as being from the USA and if so I am curious as to how long you have been waiting for your invitation from your approval letter. I got my letter on Dec 16 and was dated Dec 6. I am still waiting for the ceremony invite. It is a relief to know I am approved but still frust...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

A very happy update about my UKF application. A package arrived via USPS containing my documents, passport and a letter indicating that my application was a success and that I would be contacted by letter to schedule my citizenship ceremony. September 4 - Submitted application online September 5 - R...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

My apologies CR0001, I had thought it might be better to stick with a topic more relevant to my question.

The form given to me by the ASC was very clear, my mistake was not turning it over and reading the reverse side.

Thank you for the prompt response.

Re: New citizenship form UKF

@basicdiagrams - I do not have any specific answer for you about your biometrics but perhaps you can reply to the email and see if they respond, especially if the email was signed by a person and not autogenerated. In my case my biometrics letter (attached to an email) had an inconsistency and I rep...

Mistake in biometric invitation letter

I have received my biometric invite letter as part of my UKF application. I have dual nationality and two passports, my primary is USA where I live now and the other is Irish. As part of the UKF application I included both passport numbers and also sent my actual USA passport. The letter has correct...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

I have just received an email inviting me to do the biometrics enrolment. I assume there must have been some sort of vetting of my application and documents before this and so I am curious about what getting the email implies about the progress of my application. Is it the case that my application w...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

Hmm, I don't think I signed anywhere on the paper application. But now I see there is something on page 10 about declaring the information. Was I supposed to sign on that page despite there not being any statement that I should ? Or is the "signing" done via the web submittal. Now I am going to stre...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

So I applied yesterday online, paid the 80GBP fee, and posted the documentation via DHL today. I sent the official copy of my birth certificate issued this year in which it is stated that the birth was registered in 1988 (the year of my birth) with my father's name included. In my country you can't...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

Hello all, first off, thank you all (especially CR001 and KasMac) for the advice and information in this forum and also to Antsmall for fighting to change the law that allows us to register. I have a few general questions about filling out the UKF form and would appreciate any advice or guidance. M...

Father born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1936

I would appreciate if someone would be able to confirm that my father would be considered a British citizen by birth if he was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1936. The question arises since I only have his birth certificate stating this but not his British passport nor his passport number. As ...

Section 2: Speeding and Parking tickets in USA

I would appreciate any guidance around filling out questions 2.6 and 2.7 of the UKF form as it relates to speeding and parking tickets given in the USA. Is it correct that I would need to list every single speeding and parking ticket that I received in the USA as they would be roughly equivalent to ...

Re: Accepted Professions (sticky)

I would appreciate any guidance on the selection of my professional referee as I apply using the UKF form from the USA. I looked at the list of professions and see that "Social Worker" is on the list. Would a marriage counselor/therapist be considered a social worker ? Qualifications and Association...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

@Giacomo378, I think you do have enough documentation as you seem to have 2 of the items on the list (passport and registration certificate). However my opinion is not official at all as my only expertise is reading the guide. In any case a quick goggle shows this link to a SA government website tha...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

@Giacomo378, good luck with the NCS. I did look at a few of the council websites that specifically mention UKF and they mentioned that they were not processed. Hopefully you will have better luck with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Here is my opinion on your questions but I really have...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

@Giacomo378 - do you plan to go ahead with the NCS for submitting your UKF application ? If so, would you mind updating the forum with the process and if they are accepted ? Thank you
