Re: SHORTEST DURATION ,QUICKEST WAY from CITIZENSHIP to PASSPORT PROCESS.

I had applied using JCAP, which if I'm right doesn't exist anymore. Thus my application for passport was 'complete' when I applied for naturalisation and I went in just to collect my passport.

So to answer your question - I don't know. Best to ask for HMPO when you call them.

Re: T2 General-Absent time affect Future ILR

Also, is it applicable that I can be in a tier 2 visa for more than 5 years? Say firstly three years then an extension for extra 3 years? In that case I can apply for ILR in the sixth years assuming I will neglect the first year? Yes, Tier 2 visas are normally valid for 3 years each and you can hav...

Re: Absence exceeds 90 days in the last 12 months

Thank you. Unfortunately I would have to wait till end of July. All other requirements are met. So rental contract should be enough, bank balances, pension and job contract? No requirement for owning a property? No, property ownership as you may have noted, has become a luxury in the UK. Bank state...

Re: Absence exceeds 90 days in the last 12 months

Hello, I am in the middle of my citizenship application however, just calculated my days outside of UK and in the last 12 months it was 114. Do remember that you would be calculating absences in the 365 days prior to your date of submission. As replied by alterhase, maybe delay it by 2-3 weeks and ...

Re: SHORTEST DURATION ,QUICKEST WAY from CITIZENSHIP to PASSPORT PROCESS.

Firstly, there is no interview for your passport after naturalisation. Once you attend the naturalisation ceremony, the council sends a notification to the Home Office stating that you can be issued your passport. Apply for your passport as you would do and then ring up HMPO asking for the fast trac...

Re: Trips outside the UK

It's not very common to have zero trips outside the UK in a 5 year period. It might be helpful to explicitly state in your cover letter that you have not left the UK in the last 5 years, just to ensure that a stressed case worker assumes you forgot to add the details and delay your application by as...

Re: SHORTEST DURATION ,QUICKEST WAY from CITIZENSHIP to PASSPORT PROCESS.

Whilst I agree that HMPO on their website say they do not allow fast track for first time applications, ironically if you call them and ask, they allow it. I applied for my first passport after naturalisation on the super-express priority option (call before 10AM, pick up at 1PM - c.£90 extra). This...

Re: Absences related to business travel in the past 12 months

(Guy with 156 days absence here) My advice would be to hold back, as you are effectively seeking double discretion (both 12 months and 5 year period). I only had around 300 days absence over 5 years so my application was approved. You do not meet all requirements, as discretion is applied on 12 mont...

Re: Passport after Citizenship Ceremony

Hello! Hope everyone is good. Just wondering about one thing. If this has been answered or posted somewhere else in the form, apologies in advance. I would like to know everyone’s experiences about the length of time they receive their passports after the citizenship ceremony. You see, I’m in a bit...

Re: Occupation:Director/Self employed?

I was in a similar situation, where my company was only 4 months old when I applied for naturalisation.

I used the company's UTR; ensure that you attach the original letter from HMRC along with the certificate of incorporation when you submit your completed application.

Re: USA Visa or ESTA required?

Spoke to US Customs & Border Protection - my US visa is no longer valid as I no longer hold a valid Indian passport. It's validity is perpetuated by possessing an Indian passport, which in my case it is not applicable.

USA Visa or ESTA required?

I was an Indian citizen & passport holder until recently and my Indian passport has a valid B1/B2 US Visa, valid till 2024. This visa is on one of my older Indian passport (which was subsequently cancelled when I ran out of pages) but I still could use it to travel - I used it twice last year (while...

Re: Not a single NDRS appointment available within 200 miles...

Sorry to hear that - Merton Council (in London) offers a walk-in. Check their website for details. It may not be close to where you live but it is an option. Else call nearby councils and see if there are any cancelled appointments. As it is the case with almost all Home Office decisions & processes...

Re: Days Absent - Multi-country trips

The answer: it doesn't matter how many countries you visited. Home Office only wants to know how many days you were away from the UK. I have been in a similar situation and I only include the first country I visited. An example case below: Example: Flight out of UK to UAE: 10 July Arrival in UAE: 11...

Re: Dubai Visit Visa

The information on the UAE Embassy's website is correct. If you hold an ILR/Tier 2 visa or a normal B1/B2 visa issued by USA, you will get visa on arrival. This is assuming your duration of stay is within the stipulated visa validity (14 days + 14 days). I'm pretty sure UK student visas DO NOT make ...

Re: Absence of more than 90 days

I applied in May 2018 with absence of 156 days; I sought discretion and my application was approved in the normal time frame. The caveats are: 1) I explained the reason for my absence very clearly in my covering letter (it wasn't Crown Service or Merchant Navy). 2) I had every single document, every...

Re: Surrendring Indian passport

People who have surrendered Indian passports - when you got the surrender certificate, did you get the passport back along with it?

I have a two valid visas that I need in my current Indian passport (of countries where British passport holders would also require a visa) & I need them back!
