Re: ILR application - not being asked for expected proofs. Is this normal now?

Ok so we have cancelled the biometrics appointment, however we are aware that is not the same as cancelling the application itself. Looking here: https://www.gov.uk/cancel-visa we are directed to this page: https://eforms.homeoffice.gov.uk/outreach/Return_of_Documents.ofml however this appears to be...

Re: ILR application - not being asked for expected proofs. Is this normal now?

Thanks, and yes 28th March.

Her visa expires on 14th April as per her BRP so as long as we get the refund before that we will simply apply under SET(M) as soon as we get it.

Re: ILR application - not being asked for expected proofs. Is this normal now?

Thanks. We feel so stupid!

No, our biometrics appointment was not until the 28th and we chose a free slot so no worries regarding a refund for that.

Re: ILR application - not being asked for expected proofs. Is this normal now?

In that case I think our only option is to apply for a refund and then complete SET(M).

I don't suppose you would know if we are likely to receive a full refund in such cases? Or how long they usually take?

Visa expires 14th April 2024 so we have time.

Thanks again

Re: ILR application - not being asked for expected proofs. Is this normal now?

WOW How did this happen? Rhetorical question, but we thought we followed the correct process, and everything seemed fine in terms of information when applying. Nowhere did it state that this form was not for those applying as a partner. We have emailed the visa help team to ask if they can cancel th...

Hello. We saved the application and it states:

ILR application - not being asked for expected proofs. Is this normal now?

Hello all. I asked previously regarding a fee waiver and it's a long story but in the end we have raised the money through family members. I noticed that in our entire ILR application we have not been asked *any* questions about either of our finances(?) and we have also not been asked to send *any*...

Re: Cannot afford upcoming ILR application - what are our options?

Thank you.

It seems for many reasons it would be so much easier just to find a way to pay. We will approach some family members about the money but I was desperately trying to avoid this. Thanks for your response.

Cannot afford upcoming ILR application - what are our options?

Hello everyone - that five years went by fast! My wife's 5 yrs on her spouse visa is coming to an end in early April (initial 30 months and then a FLR(M) application as standard) and we find ourselves in the position of genuinely not being able to pay for her application. Our mortgage and other bill...

Re: Refusal overturned! Visa granted!

Actually Seagul, refusal was technically correct. Her IELTS was the IELTS General Studies exam, not IELTS For UKVI. A small technicality, but we were nonetheless refused. According to the rules, refusal was sound. IELTS General Studies is much more in depth than for UKVI and incorporates a writing c...

Refusal overturned! Visa granted!

Hello all. A few months ago I posted about my wife's refusal here: https://www.immigrationboards.com/immigration-for-family-members/clear-eco-mistake-what-are-my-options-t262681.html so please take a look for the background info. The gist is this: we were refused as she took an IELTS General Studies...

Re: Clear ECO mistake! What are my options?

Ah, ok. I see what happened. I was confused. A1 is only required initially, then A2 after the 2.5yr point. We allowed them to scan the documents and send them to Sheffield. This was excellent because we had the originals back immediately. We could therefore use the certificates and translations for ...

Re: Clear ECO mistake! What are my options?

Hi Blighty Does it not need to be A2 for settlement? I'm assuming it was a settlement visa, since it's not a requirement for a visitor visa. She took her test in June. We paid extra for priority, and it's actually worth doing since we had a decision in 6 weeks. I know someone who has been waiting si...

Re: Clear ECO mistake! What are my options?

Hi Vinny I'm afraid it doesn't really have anything to do with the embassy, and at no point did we have to go there. There is a visa processing centre in Kiev (TLSContact) but they just take the biometrics and send the documents to Sheffield. They are staffed entirely with clerical Ukrainians and do...

How can I apply to the caseworker? There are no contact details, only 'JT'. Involving my MP will probably take months.

Re: Clear ECO mistake! What are my options?

Seagul, Casa
Thank you for confirming, but how do you suggest I move forward with this? I cannot reasonably wait one year for the standard appeals process.

Re: Clear ECO mistake! What are my options?

Casa
Yes, I believe so too. But how exactly? The official appeals process takes on average of one year. This is their mistake and we cannot reasonably wait for one year over a clear ECO mistake.

Re: Clear ECO mistake! What are my options?

Casa Could you please list your source? I'm somewhat confused. According to UKVI's own list, updated on the 2nd of August, the British Council is also included (UA001) as well as Students International. Please see https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-on-applying-for-uk-visa-approved-e...

Re: Clear ECO mistake! What are my options?

haylou2

No, it has a centre number, candidate number, the date and the result, among other things. But it does not state a UKVI number. The ECO's reason for refusal was due to it not being an approved centre, which is nonsense.

Clear ECO mistake! What are my options?

Hello guys My wife's settlement application was refused this afternoon for one tiny reason that was a clear ECO mistake. 'JT' in Sheffield stated that my wife's IELTS at B2 level was not at an approved test centre. This is nuts, it was conducted at the British Council! Which is absolutely an approve...

Re: Didn't include photos of me and spouse - likely refusal?

Thanks Casa My wife has an excellent travel history. Aside from two UK visitor visas that went without a hitch, our honeymoon took us to four countries and, before we were married, she visited many EU countries. She sent the visas and documented all of these visits in her application so I'm hoping t...

Re: Didn't include photos of me and spouse - likely refusal?

No, we didn't include any. It was not a problem for her previous visas. Why do you think they would not simply contact us first? We can supply anything they need. We actually stated this in our cover letter.
