well i had a missing document but solvable as per solicitor , so i believe he can write a good letter,
my concern is the processing time , the applications with solicitors seem to take longer .

you need to wait till you have decree absolute then go ahead with 5 years treat right of your ex and explain why you cannot provide id in cover letter and emails or phone chat with ex refusing to help .
better to include it in the file , if you cannot , explain why on cover letter or ,chat ,emails with your ex ,
some cases they got PR without ex id and some had to go for appeals and get PR there ,
