Yes. At least, that's what I put down and there was no issue.

Re: Overstaying and BC

I'm by no means an expert on this, so hopefully others can also comment. But my understanding is that you must be clear of any immigration breaches for the 10 years immediately preceding the application for BC. Did you come into the country illegally in 2009? Or did you already have a visa upon arri...

Re: Every time same reply from the HO

Hi Joeano, Yeah you right but the thing is which make the applicant panic is waiting and some get their decision quick while others in que for a long wait. The check process what do you think is different for each applicant but the departments may take the same time to respond back to the Homeoffic...

Re: prove for being in the UK 5 exactly 5 years before the day the Home Office receives the Citizenship application

OK that's news to me - did paper application two years ago and didn't have to prove it specifically. I also applied quite recently and saw no such documentary "requirement". Anyway, I'm not sure what one (especially EU citizen) could provide to prove that they were in the country on such a specific...

Re: Applying for first time passport and keeping my old passport

Do you suggest waiting for the holidays to get over or rush it now? I don't really mind having a passport soon, I am only interested in giving away my passport for as little time as possible. Depends on how long you can live without it/whether you're planning to travel any time soon. If not, you co...

Re: any point complaining about UKVCAS?

From my experience, there is an issue here, and it may well be worth writing to your MP. I live in London, and when I tried to book my appointment (which to be fair, was closer to when the service first came out), the only free ones were in a month's time, and I ended up also having to fork out £200...

Re: British Citizenship after PR (not completed 12 months)

As you seem to be aware, you risk getting rejected if one year has not passed since you officially qualified for PR. Do you remember what evidence you submitted for your PR application, and what the earliest date on those documents might be? If you're not aware of the dates, I'd strongly suggest tha...

Re: ***Wrong service Selected in Naturalization application***

When I applied, you could change to the new service if you had initially selected the old service, but not the other way around. I'm not sure if this is still available, but you could try to ring the nationality helpline to find out.

Or maybe others on here have suggestions on this point.

Re: Contact by post 21 days.

I don't think it's at all "normal" for you to be informed about the decision by email. I think you're reading a bit too much into this. Just wait for the letter: as they say, it's on its way.

Re: Insurance claim / Court judgement. Will this impact Citizenship app?

the claim was settled by the insurance company in the court. I am not a criminal or do not have any criminal or civil case and have a good record since I am in UK. Would this help me get my citizenship? So was the issue settled in a court or not? And was it settled in your favour? If not in your fa...

Re: Return of documents for applying passport

Hi. I am wondering whether anybody knows the difference between "secure delivery" which an extra £5 is different from normal one? Would the documents still be sent by DX or Royalmail? and is that necessary? Thank you. I did this the other day. The extra £5 is for receving your supporting documentat...

Thanks for your reply. We submitted it on 24/02 I'm worried I'm going to make things worse for him, is there any reason it wasn't flagged when getting his residence permit, I just don't want to be the reason it gets refused by bringing attention to it :? But I also know, if nothing is said and it's...

Re: Simple Caution 5 years ago

When was the application submitted? Whichever way, I think it's definitely a good idea to send a cover letter explaining the situation, and to do so as soon as possible. I'm not sure what effect disclosing this will have on the application--probably none as it was more than 3 years ago and it was no...

Re: British citizenship

I just put my current second job down as one of my "previous jobs", but where it asks for the date when the job ended, I put the date (in the future) where my contract is scheduled to end.
