Re: british passport for baby born in india

Indian government cannot deny Indian passport as the mother is Indian just like how the UK can't deny British passport as the father is British. From what I know ROA takes pretty much the same time as passport. So if getting the baby back to the UK at the earliest is your concern, it might be quicke...

Re: british passport for baby born in india

Hi Shamat

As long as one of the parents is Indian citizen it's sufficient for the baby to get Indian passport and once you have that you should be able to apply for ROA or ILR as per your choice.

Re: british passport for baby born in india

We applied for British passport for our daughter on 26th August 2014 as both my wife and I hold a UK passport. The fee was deducted on 2nd of September. Needless to say we had submitted every document on earth you could possibly think of while making the application at the VFS Centre. We thought eve...

Thanks for your quick reply. Are you 100% sure about that? I get conflicting answers from others and hence the post. I don't want her to go all way way there, stand in the queue to get the token and then realise that she isn't allowed to do that. Thanks

Hi

Can my wife submit my application on my behalf when she herself is NOT applying OCI? Or is it that she can only apply on my behalf if she IS also applying for OCI? Thank you.

Thank you but is that something the admin has written or has it actually been extracted from one of UKBA's documentation? I have one FPN (50 08 268 Breach of a traffic sign 3 ) for turning left onto a one-way road. Do you think this should be disclosed in the Application form or since it's only one ...

Actually you should disclose FPNs and the paper counterpart of driving licence if relevant. I understood it as if 2 or more FPN only then you require to declare isn't it ? +1 that was my reasoning too. Why declare something when they have specifically mentioned it's the road traffic offences that l...

You are not required to give details of FPN (Fixed penalty notices) either as per here http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/britishcitizenship/eligibility/goodcharacter/ "You must give details of all unspent criminal convictions. This includes road traffic offences but not fixed penalty notices (such a...

Hi lynxukauq Thanks for such an informative response. I guess that would probably be the way to go then. Hi Thank you for replying! Of late, I've been hearing another option of getting a Right of Abode and a certificate of entitlement for the child instead of the British passport. In which case the child can have his/her education in India at the usual cost (instead of NRI fees) and then go for a Briti...

You can apply for your wife's visa in June 2013. The requrement being having spent less than 450 days outside UK (if applying in her own right) or 270 days if applying as a spouse. Since she has spent roughly 390 days outside the UK, she'll be able to apply sooner if she applied in her own right.

Thanks for all the Replies. Just a question. Does this 28 day limit apply even when it is an in-person application? If so does that mean I need to book an appointment and find a slot which is within this 28-day period. Given the fact that they are so busy will I be assured of an in-person applicatio...

Why is £800 + £533 required to be shown. The person in question here is already in the UK for more than 12 months, if so, why does he need to show the maintenance funds for himself? Just mention whatever is mentioned in your last payslip. CV is not mandatory, you can give if you would like to. There is no special weightage added to it.

HI Conk,

It is nearly impossible to get a job unless you are already in UK. It is better that you apply for EC ASAP as there is no prior job offer required. You can then start searching for a job.
