Question about Spouse visa

I realise that a person has to earn £18,600 a year before tax in order to bring his non EU spouse to the UK. However, how does one show this? Does the person in question have to have a contract(some people working may not have signed a contract)? Or can the evidence be provided simply by showing pay...

How long does it take to get the Certificate of Entitlement when applying from overseas?

I am about to submit my online application for the Certificate of Entitlement from overseas. I would like to know how long I can expect it to take to be ready and to arrive to me? One of the questions in the form asks when do I expect to arrive in the UK? I would obviously like to arrive as soon as ...

Re: Certificate of Entitlement

I am filling out the online form for the application of the Certificate of Entitlement and I have come across a question that I am not too sure of. Re: Certificate of Entitlement

Hi Vinny,

So what do you suggest I do? Should I just go ahead and complete the online C of E form despite the fact that some of the questions seem irrelevant? I am a new British citizen and I just want to get the C of E in order to be able to enter the UK.

Please advise me as to what I should do.

Re: Certificate of Entitlement

Yes Vinny, on the page where it asks me "Date you plan to arrive in the UK?", under the boxes where I need to fill in the dates, there is a question that says "Why is this information important", when I click on this question, it says the following: "If your application is successful, you will be gr...

Re: Certificate of Entitlement

Hi vinny, The form you have directed me to go ahead and complete, is the exact form that I have been filling out all this time. You suggested earlier that there may be a bug, but if there is a bug, what are the alternatives that I have? Is there another way of acquiring the Certificate of Entitlement?

Re: Certificate of Entitlement

Thanks for replying @vinny. So you think that there might be a bug on the online application form? What do you suggest that I do? Because I want to get the Certificate of Entitlement as soon as possible. Just to let you know, on the guide for applying the Certificate of Entitlement, it says the foll...

I was approved at the start of the year for British Citizenship and now I have finally received an update on my situation from the HO. Will children born after parent receives British citizenship through UKM route, automatically become British?

For parents that have become British through the UKM route and their spouse's are non EU citizens, will their future children automatically be granted British citizenship? Or will their future children have to be born in the UK in order for them to be granted British citizenship?

Re: Flying to the UK after having been Registered as a British Citizen

Thanks again to your answers everyone. So secret.simon, do you concur and agree that UKVI are very likely to reject a visa application, if they see that the person in question has had their British citizenship application approved, but have still not had the Citizenship Ceremony? So in essence the p...

Re: Flying to the UK after having been Registered as a British Citizen

Thanks for clarifying stuff Zimba.

Just to confirm, so does that mean that if someone has dual citizenship(both British Citizenship and Citizenship from a non EU country), they can't fly into the UK with their foreign/non British passport(If this passport requires a UK visa)?

Re: Flying to the UK after having been Registered as a British Citizen

Re: Flying to the UK after having been Registered as a British Citizen

I realise that a Registration certificate is NOT a travel document. However, if someone with this certificate, flew to the UK on his foreign passport, which had a UK visa and then overstayed his visa, would that be ok? I mean he has a British Registration certificate, so he can stay in the UK as lon...

If a person has registered as a British Citizen outside of the UK, is it ok for them to fly to the UK with their foreign passport and then apply for a British Passport once they are in the UK?
