Thanks .. I agree .. I just want to see if i can switch from ILR to RoA. I see RoA is slightly better than ILR, if he decides to come to UK in future. Thanks for all your response. I think I will leave my son in ILR. The reason is I have plans to move back to India and I am concerned that UK passport might impact his higher education in India as he will be treated as foreign national. I don't see any value in holding UK passport if he is going to ...

Hello All,

My son is in UK on Indian passport with ILR for last 4 years.

I dont want to give up his Indian passport as India doesn't allow dual citizenship.

Is there any option to switch from ILR to Right of Abode(RoA).

Yes my wife holds ILR.

Hi All, I have applied for the RoA application last week at VFS Chennai and I received a phone call today that the application will be processed only in UK and so they scan the documents and sent it to UK and returned all the originals. My wife doesnt have birth certifcate.Is it Mandatory - Is her Passport not enough for proof of date of birth?

Also, it is mandatory to get my UK Passport attested by solicitor?
