Re: Old dependant application issues

That's great news, Obormot - pleased for you & your Mum. You did really well! My Mum has already had her citizenship ceremony last month in London, so now looking to get her British passport done. Not crazy about having to send her EU passport off - we asked if a certified translation could do inste...

Re: Old dependant application issues

In late August and September they introduced an app which one could use to upload passport, if one did biometrics before (my mother did in 2018, when she applied for PR - since she was non-EU citizen). That way some people did not need to go to UKVCAS and it eased the post-lockdown backlog there. T...

Re: Old dependant application issues

Congratulations! We applied for her in late August (28/08), did biometrics via the new app, and are waiting for the outcome now.. Thanks :) :) I've just applied for my own naturalisation, sent the application in & paid two days ago. What's the new app? My Mum did the biometrics in person, during th...

Re: Old dependant application issues

Thanks! Luckily, we did PR - because when 5 years of my mum were up the settlement scheme was not in place yet. I will submit utility bills (we put her name on electricity bill), and bank statements (she has joint account with me). One per year? She also has blue badge, I will submit a copy of that...

Re: General discussion on CSI and Settled Status. Big issues for people on the EEA-Applications Routes

I found a campaign going on twitter called bye bye to csi, which was set up by a group called the 3million. They urge every EU citizens to write to their MP to call on government to scrap the need of csi. I think it will make a significant impact if everyone could do this. Done: Dear XXX I am one o...

Re: Citizenship application with settled status for Non-Eu Family member

Am I missing something? or I do not need to prove that my wife has been qualified and prove she did not need CSI? Yes, you will need to prove this - if your wife doesn't have PR, you will need to send in all the documents required to prove that she's a qualified person, and also documents to prove ...

Re: Citizenship application with settled status for Non-Eu Family member

Hi all, I'd really appreciate your inputs on this: I'm applying for British citizenship with my settled status that I've been granted last April. I'm a Non-EU family member of an EU national, I never applied for permanent residence card and I went straight for settled status which was granted to me...

Re: Old dependant application issues

Should we submit some documentation about me to prove her ties to UK? (My birth certificate? My employment letter? My and kids' naturalisation certificates? ..) We can procure some documents showing that while abroad she experienced several accidents (for example, she broke some bones twice), which...

I'm submitting one every 3 months for her, if she has it. If not, try to see if you can submit 2/year.

Re: AN application for parent with Settled Status + no CSI

I was a qualified person during Jan 2010-Feb 2018, but stopped working in Mar 2018-Sep 2019 due to illness - so I can't demonstrate being a qualified person in that period. I have had EEA PR since 2018, for the period 2010-2015. My sibling has been in continuous employment during Jan 2013-present -...

Re: Old dependant application issues

Dear all: I will soon be applying for UK citizenship for my 75 years old mother. (non-EU family member of EU citizen). She has PR from July 2018, and settled status, and she was in UK from July 2013. 1. Our main issue is that it seems she was abroad for a bit more then 450 or even 480 days (between...

Re: AN application for parent with Settled Status + no CSI

It is all because after a year or so HO chose to revert to its previous position re interpretation of the law with settled status not being 'enough' which, in all honesty, it isn't, not under the current legislation anyway. Since settled status is not 'enough' all that PR palava will bleed into Nat...

Re: AN application for parent with Settled Status + no CSI

Having refreshed my knowledge and re-read the AN Guidance, Guidance for Home Office Staff, and other Immigration blogs - I don't think you are correct is saying that there is no such right. I think that what @CR001 is pointing out is that naturalisation in the UK is a grant and not a right. It is n...

Re: AN application for parent with Settled Status + no CSI

Given my Mum's right to Naturalisation derives from being the family member of two qualified persons There is NO such 'right'. Your mother must qualify for citizenship in her own right. There is no concept of dependence/dependent/dependency for naturalisation. She must only submit the limit documen...

AN application for parent with Settled Status + no CSI

Hi All! Haven't been on the Immigration Boards site for about a year - super busy times! I'm one of the many trying to get their head around the latest changes re AN applications, CSI, etc. We sent my Mum's AN application online last week - after about 3 years of gathering info and applying for EEA ...

Re: EEA PR application advice

I do not understand why you are saying that I cannot apply as a job seeker. According to the guidance, a qualifying person can be eligible as a job seeker as well as employed or student or self sufficient (there is no specification on the time). Is this because i can not be a job seeker for a perio...

I do not remember exactly the date I arrived in the UK around the start of January (around 3-9th Jan 2013). How can I check my immigration record in order to have an accurate date matching those HO will...

Re: EEA PR application advice

Start by summarising your personal situation:

- When you arrived in UK
- Have you had absences of six months of longer since you arrived
- Approx dates of when you were working
- Approx dates of when you were not working
- What type of work - employed/self-employed
- Do you have P60s or pay slips.

Re: PR Acquired too early ?

I've seen this before - people being issued DCPR with a date earlier than when the 5 years wwre actually up.
I wouldn't be concerned though, as you say.
