I want to know, would be daughter be allowed to enter as a tourist first (we would then apply for UK passport af...

Re: Activating spouse visa after arriving in UK

Thanks for the reply.

But is there any way she can go past immigration as if boarding a plane (to "leave" the UK), but not actually board the plane, and then just go through immigration again (to "enter the UK), to activate the visa?

Activating spouse visa after arriving in UK

Hi, My wife is a Hong Kong citizen and also has a valid UK spouse visa. However, her UK spouse visa isn't valid for activation until after a while. If she arrives in UK on her Hong Kong passport, can she activate her spouse visa from within the UK? For example, can she go past immigration at the air...

Remain as the mother of a child who was born in UK

Hi All, I am a British citizen and my wife is non-British, and she is pregnant. If she gives birth in the UK, I can apply for British citizenship for my child because I myself am British. If my wife is on a 6 month visitor visa, is there any way she can apply for leave to remain after giving birth h...

Spouse visa

Hi All, Applying for my wife's spouse visa. With regards to "shared financial responsibilities" we have no accounts or bills in both of our names. However, I send most of my salary to my wife's account each month as a contribution towards rent (for which we have evidence), and she pays the rent from...

TB test for spouse visa

Hi All,

Applying for UK spouse visa requires TB test, the result of which lasts for 3 months. I want to ask, does the TB test result need to be valid AT THE TIME OF ENTRY TO UK, or only at the time of applying for visa?

Many thanks,

SC

Re: Bringing Chinese wife to UK

Thanks for your help.

Would not having paid off my student loan cause any complications for applying for my wife's spouse visa?

Cheers,

Re: Bringing Chinese wife to UK

Hi There If I have £62,500 savings in my account starting from March until September 2020, will my wife then be able to apply for a spouse visa from Hong Kong (is it recommended to have more money than this)? Also, do they usually take the full 12 weeks to process, or can they sometimes be quicker? ...

Re: Bringing Chinese wife to UK

In order to apply for spouse visa, must my wife have proof of employment and residency from the country she's coming from? If so, what evidence would suffice?

Cheers!

Re: Bringing Chinese wife to UK

Thanks for all your advice so far. I am now considering getting a multiple entry visa so that we can take a trip to EU after arriving in UK. Now, if my wife applies for 2-year multiple entry visa in April, will she still be allowed to apply for the spouse visa in January (while the 2-year visa is st...

Extending UK visitor visa

Hi There, My wife is a Mainland China citizen currently working in Hong Kong and I am a British man studying in UK. My wife currently has a UK visitor visa. She came to the UK for two weeks over between Dec 2019 and Jan 2020 and the visa expires in April 2020. I want to bring my wife to the UK as so...

Re: Bringing Chinese wife to UK

This would not be made from within the UK, but from Hong Kong. My wife is currently in Hong Kong (and she is a Mainland China citizen) while I am in the UK. I want to bring her here as soon as possible for 6 months without her having to go back to Hong Kong in April, when her current visa is due to ...

My wife currently holds a visitor visa that lasts until April this year. Could this be extended immediately so that she could come to the UK very soon without having to return to HK in April?

Thanks.

Furthermore, since my wife is currently working in Hong Kong, would her current salary count towards the application? Or must it be a UK job?

If we are to use savings in support of a visa application, does it have to be in my (the husband's) account, or can they also be in my wife's account?

Re: Bringing Chinese wife to UK

Thanks for reply. Furthermore, my current plan is as follows: My wife will first apply for a standard visitor visa in April 2020. My wife's current contract ends in 2021, so we have proof that she can return to Hong Kong, although we intend for her to break that contract when she moves to the UK. I ...
