Re: Chat logs if no separation?

Yes, we were very relieved to hear that - originally there was some difficulty in planning for selling and then renting but that was a major weight off to discover it wouldn’t be necessary.

Chat logs if no separation?

Hello, I've done a few searches but can't seem to find much information. We are preparing to start assembling our paperwork for my husband's UK spouse visa to enter from the USA and I'm not sure how necessary chat logs are. We have lived together continuously in the US since 2012 and have not spent ...

Re: Delayed biometrics for overseas citizenship registrations

As was explained to me at the VFS office, if the biometrics are erroneously filed, your entire application essentially needs to be tossed out and re-started, including the £1000 application fee (x3 kids). That notice apparently only applies to visas, as I mentioned in my original post. I’m looking t...

Re: Delayed biometrics for overseas citizenship registrations

That notice apparently only applies to visas, as I mentioned in my original post. I’m looking to hear from anyone who has been able to process biometrics for citizenship since the announcement that ASCs were accepting UK applicants again. This is specific to USA citizens as far as I understand.https...

This is specific to USA citizens as far as I understand.https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2019/apr/16/bureaucratic-glitch-uk-suspends-visa-enrollment-for-american-citizens It is, I was just wondering if the process had started moving along again for anyone in the US doing citizenship biometrics.

Re: Delayed biometrics for overseas citizenship registrations

Bumping, I have heard no more information and no one has contacted me to tell me I can continue on enroling my children's biometrics from abroad. Has anyone been able to do this from overseas (for citizenship, not visas) in the last month?

Delayed biometrics for overseas citizenship registrations

I’ve been applying from the US for my daughters’ citizenships (by descent, for simplicity’s sake, so cannot go to the standard route or simply applying for their passports). We had a biometric appointment for them the day after USCIS stopped servicing UKVI applicants due to the delayed payment to Ho...

Applying from the US and ASC stoppage

I applied for (and received) my citizenship by descent February 2019 from the USA, having posted my application from the States and attended a biometrics application from a USCIS ASC. I am in the process of trying to register my children (also by descent as I lived in the UK as a child), but the day...

It is very different to the same page in my passport and the one in the tweet in my original post. The language is quite different and appears to be...

Also, it appears that the note at the back, stating the right to consular assistance from the consulate of any EU member-state (outside the EU), has been discreetly removed a while back. Can people who have got recent British passports verify whether that is the case? https://twitter.com/AmaF_92EU/...

Re: British child moving to Oz

I am a citizen by descent (my father registered me in 2001, I remember attending the interview in Queensland with him so it was not automatic but it was a quick process). At some point before my children turn 18 I will have to move to Australia with them for a certain amount of time in order to natu...

Re: Does working for a British embassy count as working within the UK for the purposes of sponsorship?

The embassy of a foreign country is not the territory of the foreign country, but still the territory of the host country, but exempt from certain laws and control (i.e. the physical space of the embassy has diplomatic immunity) of the host country. So, the UK embassy in another country is not UK t...

Re: Does working for a British embassy count as working within the UK for the purposes of sponsorship?

Hello, Probably a silly question but I have the opportunity to work for the local embassy and I was wondering if that would count toward the financial requirement of having earned £18,600 for at least six months, even if it's in local currency, as it would be on UK soil? I am trying to sponsor my h...

I haven't been able to scour all the MN1 from abroad-related posts, but I'm curious if there is is a known issue? Re: MN1, Section 3(1)/3(2) from abroad or naturalise children after 3 years?

So it doesn't look like residency/ILR are required. I was specifically referring to Section 3(1) applications which usually do have this requirement. [/quote] I'm also specifically referring to Section 3(1), per page 16 of the link you sent me: Discretionary applications under section 3(1)This sect...

Re: MN1, Section 3(1)/3(2) from abroad or naturalise children after 3 years?

On what basis did the solicitor say this is possible and what nationality law clause specifically has he stated? Has he by any chance said it was possible based on the Romein Case?? She said it was because all applications are essentially discretionary anyway and I would have been a citizen, I just...

For a 3(2) registration, you must have been British by Descent at the time of the childrens birth, which you were not. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/755505/Registration-as-a-British-citizen-children-v4.0ext.pdf Section 3(1) requires ...

Re: MN1, Section 3(1)/3(2) from abroad or naturalise children after 3 years?

I very recently received unusual advice from a solicitor on the approved list of solicitors from UKVI, which is what has changed. As a result, I am trying to find if anyone else has gone against the stated eligibility guidance or lodged a similarly unusual application. I understand what UKVI says ex...
