OCI - Place of Birth confusion

In my UK as well as cancelled Indian passport the place of birth is mentioned as "Chennai, Tamil Nadu". I put in the same information in the OCI form. However, the OCI form also asks for the State and country of birth separately so in the final application form (which has the photo) the place of bir...

Transfer of BRP (ILR) to new passport?

I have indefinite leave to remain in the UK. If I renew my non-UK passport (because it is due to expire), should I also request for a new BRP?

FPN should be declared.
Most probably you do not need to mention PCN paid on time, if they were more then a year ago.
Where should it be declared?
Is it in the "Convictions and other penalties" section?

Re: Declaring PCN/FPN

https://www.immigrationboards.com/british-citizenship/british-citizenship-good-character-requirement-faqs-t205532.html The FAQ says there's no legal requirement to declare a PCN: " Note: penalty charge notices and notices for disorder (PCN/PND) may be considered as a FPN for the purpose of ‘Good Cha...

Declaring PCN/FPN

Hello, I received two PCNs: Sept 2014 (Bus lane violation, paid in time) September 2015 (Parking fine, paid in time) And one FPN: December 2015: Speeding £100 fine but waived because I attended a course as part of the National Speed Awarness scheme. I'm hoping these shouldn't matter, can someone con...

Re: MN1 Referee

Nowhere does it say the referee must have had a professional engagement with the child (is this clause on the referee declaration form?) It feels like I can't download the referee declaration form before I pay and submit the application. The whole process is awkward. The latest guidance ( https://ww...

MN1 - referees for 3+ year old born in UK

This is about referees for a 3.5 year old, born in the UK applying for BC (entitlement). The requirements stated in the online application are as below. That a referee must know the applicant who is 3.5 years old for more than 3 years is rather strict. Only referees I can think of are health workers...

Referees for MN1

The latest MN1 guide (March 2019) doesn't talk about referees at all. However, the online form seems to expect referees. Clearly, there's a gap.

Confusing declaration in MN1 online form

I am registering my child (who is just above 3 years) as a British citizen. The declaration form has the following two options: I confirm that: (Required) * I am the applicant * I am a representative of the applicant and have been authorised to act on their behalf and have discussed and confirmed th...

Re: MN1 for my 15month son- 2 questions please

I think there is some confusion here in this thread. Form MN1 covers most forms of child registration, such as under Section 1(3), 3(2), 3(5) and 3(1) of the British Nationality Act 1981 . Each of these sections have different requirements and therefore different proofs, but the form is the same. T...

Re: 30 hours childcare , one parent ILR

Further into the dependant ILR application, there's a question: "Do you or anyone else who is part of this application receive any public funds? (Required) " I don't know what that means. Does this only include persons who are applying for ILR as part of the current application? Or does this also in...

Re: 30 hours childcare , one parent ILR

There is information in the NRPF website and the UKVI website. The NRPF website says: " A parent who has leave to remain with the NRPF condition will not be eligible for this additional childcare. However if they have a partner who is entitled to apply and who has recourse to public funds then they ...

Nationality checking service / UKVCAS

I understand the nationality checking service will cease to operate end of December 2018. Does this mean citizenship registration applications (MN1) would go through UKVCAS?

If that's the case would there be an option to retain the supporting documents (for MN1) post verification by UKVCAS?

In my case, the marriage was registered 1 day after the the marriage was solemnized. Which one should I use for the date of parents' marriage?
It has been indicated in my marriage certificate that the date of solemnization was one day before the date of registration.

Physical presence on application receipt date (UK born child)

"You must also be in UK when Home Office receives your application (date of receipt of citizenship application is the day HO receives it, and you must be in UK on that day)."

Is this requirement mandatory for a UK born child?

I've just received an email from HO stating paper applications are valid only until 28th of November. What? This seems contradictory to other correspondences from HO (as you've mentioned a number of other people have called up HO etc.) They mentioned I need to cancel my appointment. Why did the syst...

Re: New VCAS system, Super confusing

I spoke to HO today and they said only if you've made the booking and payment before 2nd November 2018 would the old system apply. From that, I infer the system will not allow you to book appointments using the old method starting 2nd November 2018. I have a premium center appointment on 29th Nov 20...
