Re: Need to travel abroad right after citizenship ceremony

Thanks Bealtaine. I read however that, even after I get the Stamp 6, I would still have to ask for a re-entry visa -_- ....so, I guess I will have to do that anyway and won't be able to travel as soon as needed.

Need to travel abroad right after citizenship ceremony

Hi everyone, I am attending the citizenship ceremony next Monday. Super happy about this! However, due to work, I need to travel abroad on the following Thursday. This means I will not have enough time to get an Irish passport and will have to travel with my Peruvian passport. Also, since I will be ...

Re: Do you get your IRP back during Citizenship Ceremony?

Thanks. I was curious if on the day of the ceremony, they would return the IRP to me. It sounds like the answer is no since, effectively, I will be Irish.

Thank you!

Do you get your IRP back during Citizenship Ceremony?

Hi everyone,

For those who have already been to the citizenship ceremony, did you get your documentation, especially your IRP/GNIB, back that day?

Thanks,
Javier

Travel and re-entry without IRP while waiting for citizenship ceremony?

Hello everyone and happy new year! On Nov 26 I received the letter from INIS asking me to pay my citizenship fee and submit my Irish Residence Permit (IRP) to Tipperary. I did immediately but, unfortunately, I was not included in the December ceremony. Since the next ceremony will probably be a few ...

Applying by end of December? Is that ok?

Hello - Based on my residency calculations (had to deduct over 60 days due to absence from the country a few years back) I can apply for citizenship on December 28. I was wondering if that would work (e.g. INIS is closed or similar) or if I should just wait until January 2 (or maybe later?) Thanks f...

Re: Form 8 - Naturalisation (5+ years) - Required docs question

Thanks for the info, littler! I got those as well as (per their requirements) bank statements for at least 3 out of last 6 months.

Re: Form 8 - Naturalisation (5+ years) - Required docs question

A related question: do I have to send the originals of the utility bills/other proofs of residency? I imagine copies are ok but I'm not sure.

Thanks.

Re: Naturalisation & 6wk+ absences

FWIW, I contacted INIS via e-mail explaining my situation (e.g. traveling a lot due to work, not much I can do about that, work will provide justification for every single trip) and they said they would consider it. Now, I've also been told by other people that the team replying via e-mail are not n...

Re: Naturalisation & 6wk+ absences

Thanks very much for the info, littler. I contacted the Justice department asking about whether a letter from my company would be taken into consideration and they said yes. However, I've also been told in the past that the info might not be accurate and people still don't get the letter considered....

Re: 6wks absences - need letter from employer wording

Hi all - apologies if this is a basic question but I have not been able to find clear info on it. How are the year periods calculated? For example, if I apply today (October 15), would the previous year be the 365 days immediately before that date? As in, from October 14 2017 to October 14 2018? If ...

Re: Naturalisation & 6wk+ absences

Also wondering if someone had any experience with this. Due to work I travel overseas a lot. I have now been living in Ireland for 5years but in the last 12 months I was out more than 6 weeks (4 weeks due to work). I am wondering if getting a letter from my HR department stating the reasons of my tr...
