Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Good news from my side. I received my Home Office invitation letter as well as an invitation letter from my Council (Buckinghamshire Council) in the post just now. The council said that they have booked me in for the ceremony on 23rd December which is a bit too late for me. Below are my timelines: D...

Re: Citizenship Ceremony cancelled due to Covid-19

Anyone here from Buckinghamshire (Bucks) Council.
I know my case was approved only recently (7th September) compared to many others on this forum who have been waiting for much longer, but thought it would be worth checking if someone is from my council and what's the trend there.

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

Guys, I received my naturalisation application approval by email today. I had applied online on 6th May 2020. Submitted facial image through IDV on 26th August 2020 and got the approval email today. Good luck to all of you. We now know that they have started processing applicants who had submitted b...

Received email to use IDV about an hour ago. Just took my photo, did a liveness check, took a photo of my passport and submitted the application.

It was quick and easy. They took all that time to make a good app after all.
Forgot to mention that my application date was 6th May.

Got the invite. Had applied on 15 April.
That's amazing. We now know from quite a few examples that those who had applied up to 15th April have received invites. I had applied on 6th May, and hoping there won't be long to wait.

its interesting that the screenshots of the app shows uploading doucments as well. hope we don't have to upload all the docs again on the app and it just asks to take photos. I am hoping that the documents that we have submitted through the UKVCAS website would show up on the IDV app as previously ...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

Agree you are right, but when I see people getting their application approved even though they applied more than month after me kind of frustrates me quite a lot. These kind of questions I would like to ask directly to UKVI AND UKVCAS but unfortunately they don’t give a damn about it. Waiting waiti...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

Anyone got any communication from UKVCAS? (Today is 10th so I was expecting something to be in my inbox when I wake up) It will probably be after 1700, these guy's are playing games. They will probably wait until the final group's deadline of today opt-out passes. It's like playing with our minds, ...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

@passat You have no restrictions to travel until you attend your ceremony, NOT till you receive a BP. You become British once you attend your ceremony and can not travel with ILR BRP after that. Just wanted to clarify. Hopefully, once we will reach the BP stage, the backlog would have subsided. Tha...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

I applied on 22nd June. I have finally decided to stay put with the IDV app. Reason being, there is no guarantee if invitations will be sent out for those who opt-out from week starting 10/8 OR there will be a further delay. Assuming, invitations will be sent out on 10/8 for those who opt-out, and ...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

It seems people going for biometrics are receiving approval decisions within a week. Accordingly, I am hoping that those going for IDV will be receiving decisions soon after submission of facial images, provided they have already submitted documents on UKVCAS website. Here's hoping that UKVI would h...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

This new option that has been given to applicants regarding OPT OUT or waiting for the new IDV app to roll out has put everyone in a dilemma, because nobody knows which option would ensure faster processing. If we opt out, the biometrics appointment can only be made by invitation, which means waitin...

Re: **** COVID19 Biometrics appointments and UKVCAS ***** (Discuss here ONLY)

I don't know what kind of system is UKVCAS operating. The people eligible for biometric reuse are at a disadvantage now. I had applied online on 9th May, received the biometrics reuse email on 3rd July and haven't received anything else yet. On the other hand people who applied in June are getting a...

Online application submitted, waiting for Service Centres

Hello - I submitted my online British citizenship application on 6th May 2020. As we know that the Sopra Steria centres are closed for now, is there a likelihood that the application processing will start before the biometrics appointment, or the HO only starts looking at applications once the appli...

Re: Question about employment on AN form

You are still "employed" by your company, irrespective of whether you got any income from it. So you are employed "to date". Thank you. So as long as my limited company exists, I cannot be unemployed, whether I work or not? Is there a proof of employment or income required to be submitted along wit...

Re: Applying for Naturalisation during COVID19 pendamic

1. No, biometric centres are currently closed. It is also not "HO" who take biometrics. It is done by third party agency UKCVAS sopra steria. Can we submit the online application now and submit the biometrics when the UKVCAS centres open? Or the online applications are also not being accepted curre...

Question about employment on AN form

I am preparing my naturalisation application through the ILR (5 year T2G) + 12 months route. I was in full time employment until 30.09.2019. From 09.03.2020 to 17.04.2020 I worked for a company for 6 weeks under a contract for which I established a limited company. My contract ended on 17.04.2020 an...

Re: Do you have a previous visa, entry clearance or leave to remain where you had to prove your knowledge of English?

Or does the question mean to ask about visas prior to ILR, because a separate question follows which asks "Did you meet the knowledge of English requirement as part of an indefinite leave application made on or after 28 October 2013?" If the first question excludes ILR from its defnition, then in my...

Do you have a previous visa, entry clearance or leave to remain where you had to prove your knowledge of English?

Hello friends, I am filling my citizenship application. There is a question: "Do you have a previous visa, entry clearance or leave to remain where you had to prove your knowledge of English?" If I answer ' Yes ', it asks: "Tell us the previous visa, entry clearance or leave to remain you had" As I ...
