Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

Can others who have submitted biometrics still go into UKVCAS account and still upload/delete documents? I had my appointment a couple of days ago but can still go and do this. Yes we can. Don't add or delete anything though! Although, I don't think it matters because documents should have been sub...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

Hello everyone, Me and my family have applied for naturalisation through new UKCVAS service in December. We could not get free appointment so payed £300 for 3 of us. The question is: How can we truck the progress on the application please? I have tried to find through the UKCVAS website nothing is ...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

Jesus, can everyone just calm down and understand that your applications are being processed. No need for the panic. I too used UKVCAS and am waiting. HO says it can take up to 6 months! Yep, agreed. Also, having had a closer look at the Nov timelines, it seems that most people's UKVCAS appointment...

Re: Severe Anxiety about Good Character requirement

A small aside of encouragement: You're not the only one feeling this way. I certainly share your feelings, though perhaps to a lesser degree. I am not generally an anxious person, but when it came to the GCR I've been having a lot of anxiety since I submitted my application, despite not having had ...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

He then said that I should hear back within 6-8 weeks which I find hard to believe but will be nice if it happens. He said there will be no email confirmation. I actually noticed this "8 week" estimate on the checklist that you download after you've completed the online application. Towards the end...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

I am in exactly the same situation. I applied through UKVCAS as well and had to insist they scan my whole current and previous passport (to cover the stamps for 5 years). They seemed reluctant but were nice and courteous. Frankly, I wouldn't worry about it. If UKVCAS are incompetent then it is HO's...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

You should complain to the official UKVCAS email and also to HO. I agree, the whole system feels like a fiasco. Most people who applied in November and used the UKVCAS system have not received their approval yet. A lot of people who applied under the old system seem to have received their approval....

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

I was also concerned about the lack of communication once one's documents are uploaded/verified at the UKVCAS appointment. Someone here stated that you don't get any confirmation, which is true. I was so paranoid that I called them on the number in my appointment (not that absurdly priced-per-minut...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

I wanted to check what you guys see after attending the appointment on UKVCAS website if you login to your account? The reason for my question is that on t...

Yes it needs to be disclosed. It is a Fixed penalty notice and regardless of whether it's expired, AN form specifically asks for it.

Re: British Citizenship – Good Character Requirement FAQs

My general rule of thumb, as confirmed by a Nationality Enquiries rep, is if you have any doubts whether you should disclose something or not, then the safest option would be to do so. If they find it irrelevant, they simply won't consider it. And if it's relevant then you will have disclosed it an...

5 years should be enough if you're trying to prove residency as an EEA national.

Re: British Citizenship – Good Character Requirement FAQs

If I were you, I would probably not even declare it for the reason that you have: a) Not been convicted of a criminal offense in a court of law. b) Not received an out of court disposal in relation a criminal offense where you have admitted guilt(e.g. Caution, warning) c) Not received a penalty in r...

Re: British Citizenship – Good Character Requirement FAQs

Just to make clear that it was voluntary police interview . My personal opinion (and I am not an immigration advisor) is that you can mention it in the additional information section. You could also do a SAR to see your record on the PCN and local police force (where you were interviewed). This jus...

Re: new system naturalisation, acknowledgement letter

I would disregard what dave12560 is saying. The only thing that has changed is the front end system (FES) i.e. the document collection methodology has changed. The decision making process remains unchanged and subject to the same processing timelines as before. If anything, they are likely to be fas...

Re: new system naturalisation, acknowledgement letter

Agreed. In fact, the trend has been that home office is trying to make the application process quicker and more seamless. For e.g. all documents (incl. LIUK certificate) are now scanned and uploaded. It would be counter-productive to implement a new system if it takes longer than the old system! Hav...

Re: new system naturalisation, acknowledgement letter

Agreed. I was told acknowledgment will be received within 3 days at the UKVCAS appointment but haven't received anything. One point of comfort is that the home office does say that they will send a reminder if the UKVCAS appointment has not been attended within 15 working days. If you don't receive...

I’d received my acknowledgement letter through email after 4 weeks I submitted my application online.
Was that an email acknowledging the receipt of application or the receipt of biometrics?
