Start/end date of new CoS vs. current visa

I am currently on a tier 2 visa that expires in November this year. I am switching companies, and my new CoS has a start date of 5/4/2021. I have not yet given notice yet, as I haven't applied for my visa yet, and we haven't confirmed the start date. Will I still be able to work my current job after...

Re: Length of new visa shorter than first visa

Thank you, both! I did ask them about that, but they said they thought they were only allowed to issue it for up to 2 years because of my other visa. They did say they would ask someone who handles visas more to be sure, though. Hopefully it'll work out, and they'll be able to do it for 3 years!

Length of new visa shorter than first visa

Hi, I'm currently on a tier 2 visa with an issue date in November 2018, and I arrived in the UK in January 2019. My current visa is due to expire in November 2018. I've just got a new job with a different company, and they are working on issuing my sponsorship. They have told me that they are only a...

Re: Issues picking up BRP

I took a chance and went back to the post office today, even though it was before the date UKVI said it'd be available in their email to me, and they had it there. One less thing to worry about!

Re: Issues picking up BRP

Thank you! It's just been a headache as I can't start my job (or get the last background check they're requiring) until I get it. The letter I got said I have to pick it up before the visa vignette expires or within 10 days of arriving. "If you fail to do so, you may be subject to a financial penalt...

Issues picking up BRP

Hi, I recently got my tier 2 general visa, and my decision letter said the BRP would be available for pickup at the post office from 30 December 2018. The expiry date on my entry is 22 January. I arrived in the UK on 8 January and attempted to pick it up twice. Both times I was told it was not there...

Re: Accommodation in the UK??

Sorry I can't answer this, but I'm bumping because I would also like to know. I'm planning to stay with my brother until I find a flatshare but don't know how long I'll be there.

'Family in the UK' visa question

Hi, I'm applying for my tier 2 visa, and it asks if I have family in the UK. I have a brother, sister-in-law, and niece on tier 2. Do they count as immediate family if they are not dependents and if I'm not their dependent? I'm not joining anyone, and my visa will be totally separate from anything t...

Errors on CoS

Hi, My sponsor finally got my CoS approval last month. When they sent me the certificate, it had my middle name misspelled by one letter, my last address in the UK (I had to come back to the US to apply for my tier 2 because my tier 4 expired, but the also had one word and one letter off in the UK a...
