Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

I've only just had my appointment at UKVCAS yesterday, so thought I'd share the experience of that. I'll add a timeline to the appropriate thread once I get to the end of the process. I became eligible to apply January 21st, and did so straight away. I didn't need any extra services and had a prefer...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

I completed my application online today. I have a couple of outstanding questions. 1. When uploading my supporting documents to UKVCAS, there isn't a section for my referee declarations. Should these be uploaded too? Or do these only get taken to the appointment? 2. I didn't book any extras over the...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

Thanks both - interesting, mixed experiences. I think I will take what I have (and also see if I can get the council to generate a more recent bill) and hope for the best - don't really have any other option! Would be frustrating if I had issues based on something so meaningless/irrelevant.

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

You submitted far too many unnecessary documents. Citizenship is not a repeat of the ILR process. One thing that has me a little worried is people suddenly mentioning proof of address. I always find this quite hit and miss in this country as to what is acceptable. I'm submitting my application this...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

Just posting my experience with the 'new' process for naturalisation applications. a) I duly completed the required online application on the Home Office website. b) Once I submitted the application, I was directed to UKVCAS website to create a login and password for submitting my documents and boo...

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

Thanks @johnhkg. So, basically, the major difference for the end user here is that you have your application checked/processed and complete biometrics in one appointment now? Otherwise it seems to be BAU.

Re: Experiences using new UKVCAS for naturalisation/citizenship applications

Hi everyone, Firstly, thank god I found this page - seems impossible to find any useful official information! I have a could of clarifications I am hoping someone can help with. I will be eligible to apply for citizenship by naturalisation on January 21st. 1. Can I book my appointment before then? A...
