Delighted is an understatement, my three children have Irish citizenship through my Limerick born wife so all five of us now have Irish passports/citizenship. I hope everyone here doesn't...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

Hi, I had multiple discrepancies with dates of birth for my Irish Grandmother. Essentially the reason was to hide her real age from my Grandfather. Rather than wait to be asked for further documentation I submitted an affidavit to this effect with the original application. I wasn’t asked for any fu...

Re: Foreign Birth Registration

I called at the end of last week on Thursday and was told my application has been sent to a manager for approval... Hi Court, I was advised on November 29th 2018 that my application had been sent for approval by management. However, in my case, this was later shown to be wrong / meaningless because...

I called yesterday. Mine was received in London on 31st July - apparently it hasn't been processed yet but it likely to be 'very soon' as they are working on July now.

I am just hoping that mine is just behind yours!
Fingers crossed, will let u know when I hear anything. Hopefully soon :-)

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Like many others, I have been following this forum with interest. I submitted my application (and received the email confirming receipt) in early September, so I am approaching my six-month anniversary. I have read the accounts of increasingly inconsistent statements from the DFA with some concern....

I consider it a privilege that Ireland was willing to give me citizenship, simply because my grandparents were born there.
Completely agree.
100% agree. It is a privilege.
Ditto! Plus the money is a drop in the ocean compared to applying for citizenship of other countries....

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Called today, very pleasant chap. Told it’s in the last stage and gone off for management approval. Basically they have been inundated with goings on around Brexit!

Hopefully not too much longer....

Re: Foreign Birth Registration?

Also worth adding I contacted the embassy in advance as none of the dates of birth on the documentation matched and was advised to include an affit Davit as t...
