I don't mean to piss you, but actually leaving no public trace could be a negative factor. :| A work history and paying taxes is always considered to be helpful. Applied in mid 2017 and still waiting.... a house wife and never worked in Pakistan nor in Ireland.. no driving history ... what checks t...

Re: INIS treating Pakistanis and Africans differently?

It might be the case that applications from some countries are handled differently depending on the specific situation of each country, such as war, etc. I think definitely other EU countries have their application processed faster. You have to consider the INIS has to do a background check on you a...

Re: Irish Citizenship Application October 2018. Waiting for Approval.

Don't get your hopes up. I applied in September 2018 and I only got my second stage letter this summer. We are all probably on the same boat and we won't hear back from them until the court case is resolved.

Re: September Citizenship Ceremony 2019

That's great! I'm sure they will invite her. But she was approved before the court ruling.

I was wondering about people in advanced stages, It seems like no one has heard anything about approvals lately, or none of those people are in this forum, which is kinda unlikely.

Re: Travelling after court ruling. Is anyone doing it?

Hey Yala, Thanks for getting back. Hopefully we'll both get good news soon. I think I'm travelling as well. I don't think there will be any issue because people can't pause their lives. I think this thread would be good to keep track if something were to happen with applications for people that are ...

Re: Court rules "continuous residence" means you CANNOT LEAVE IRELAND AT ALL for year before application

I called today and the rep I spoke to told me existing applications shouldn't be affected, but that they weren't 100% sure. I also went to the immigration office and even though this is not part of their department they also told me they don't see existing applications being affected by this ruling ...

Travelling after court ruling. Is anyone doing it?

Hi everyone. I made my application almost a year ago. Today I called the citizenship department, the rep I spoke to told me I shouldn't have any issue travelling abroad but also told me they weren't 100% sure and it was best to wait for any updates on the court ruling. I guess my question is: Is any...

Citizenship - What are the contents of the 2nd Letter?

Hi there, I applied in September 2018, received my passport back in January 2019, along with a letter asking for further documentation. I was also assigned an application number. My question is, was this the second letter? or is the second letter just to tell you your application is now being proces...

Change of address during application

Hi there, I'm in the middle of my citizenship application. I got my passport back and was asked for further documentation, this was 3 months ago. I haven't heard back from them and I will be moving to a new address in a few days. I've already contacted the Burgh Quay Registration Office on burghquay...

Citizenship: Does anyone know what each stage in the process entails?

Hi everyone. I'm curious to know based on everyone's experience what happens during each stage of the citizenship process. Is my understanding stage one is when they check the application and make sure you are eligible. This is before receiving your passport back, correct? Then if they ask for more ...

Citizenship: Aditional documents, what to do if you don't have household bills for one of the years claimed?

Hi guys, I've finally received my acknowledgement letter. I'm being asked to submit household bills for the years claimed, however, I don't have any bills to my name for one of those years, anyone else has been in this situation before? Is there any substitute the DJE accepts in place of a household...

Citizenship: After 4 months I haven't received acknowledgement letter - What do do?

Hi everyone. I submitted my application on Set 11 2018, based on a civil partnership to an Irish citizen. I saw the time line topic here and noticed most people receive an acknowledgement letter and their passport back in around a month, it's been almost 4 months and I'm still waiting. I reached out...
