I would say hold on with the FBR application and don't give up. The feeling you get when it comes through and you have the certificate in your hand is worth the wait. I Know I have been lucky getting mine through in the 6 months. But your day will come ! :D

This morning I drove to my local postal depot to pick up a special delivery that I missed on Thursday. It was my FBR certificate and returned documents. :D So I received it on the 10th January after applying on the 18th July just under the 6 months. The certificate confirms I became an Irish citizen...
