Does this mean that you can change employer in the meantime and when you go for the second renewal, nothing is asked about the employment status?

Sorry Ray, I should have framed the question more precisely.

My situation is

If my wife is the main applicant and I am the spousal applicant and if she decides not to work, is there any criteria that the main applicant should be working to show proof of funds?

Thanks a lot Ray for all your help.
I have one more question though:

If my spouse is applying as the main applicant, after landing in Canada, if she decides not to work, will I be eligible to work being as spousal applicant?

Thanks for the reply.

I read about the chest x-ray to be taken while travelling to UK.

Is this based on the nationality or from the place where we are travelling?

I am presently in Germany and would be going to UK from here itself. So in that case, would a chest x-ray be required?

When your spouse applies as your dependent, they will get a family residence permit visa. If such a visa, then your spouse can work.
I suppose the marking on the visa mentions if one can work in Finland. For eg. A or B type visa (visa has the number starting with A or B)

Hi all,

Are there forums like specific to London, southampton etc where we can discuss about the housing costs, salaries etc specific to the location so that before coming to UK, one can get some idea of the place.

Anyone registered with such forums, please let know
