Re: Leaving 2nd job, how do i contact the Home Office

From what I understand, you only need to inform them of adverse or material changes, e.g. if you are under investigation for a crime or declared bankrupt (adverse) or (post) address change (material change). As you applied for British Citizenship you almost certainly have Indefinite Leave to Remain ...

Re: Mistake on Document Certifying Permanent Residence

I can probably alleviate some of your stress. My name goes something like: Jacob-Rees Mogg, however my DCPR came out as "Jacob Rees Mogg." I, like you, did not realise until much later that this error had been made. The Home Office gives contrary advice because for BRPs there are much stricter rules...

But are they both valid when you have exchanged your driving licence under the EU scheme. Your country would know that you applied to replace their licence with a UK licence. You can have only one EU driving licence at any one time. ... Before the authorities exchange your driving licence, they wil...

Re: Driving in UK on EU licence after no deal

I don't suggest you do this, but if you were to temporarily lose possession of your EU licence, you can 'exchange' your licence without giving up your lost licence. If you then find your licence again, you will have 2. This actually happened to me, though in my case it was a proper accident (someone...

Re: Traveling abroad whilst Naturalisation application is in progress

yes thats correct. you need to return the return you BRP card within 5 days of approval. It is within 5 days of attending the ceremony and not approval!! of course, you only become BC once you have attended the ceremony. :D A follow on question. If the letter of approval and citizenship ceremony da...

Hello. I am planning to apply for british citizenship as i have been in UK for more than 7 years on ILE visa. Only problem is, I was convicted for DUI last year. My ILE visa will expire on 2020, hence, how likely will my application be approved. If the chances of getting approval is really low then...

Re: Married to BC, has EU settled status, no CSI

I think you are theoretically correct, the fact they do not ask for any proof about CSI shows that they will not check nor is in the casework guidance. Also, I think if this were challenged in court the Home Office would lose. It would also cause a widespread panic and a scandal bigger than Windrush...

Re: may have made mistake on application?

Sounds reasonable course of action to me. If you do not, you might get into trouble and it might be seen as 'deception' leading to a 10 year ban.

Re: Am I British or British by descent

I think you are Otherwise than by Descent (emphasis added): Registration under section 3(1) will give British citizenship by descent if the father or the mother was a British citizen at the time of the child’s birth. In all other cases registration gives British citizenship otherwise than by descent.

Re: Married to BC, has EU settled status, no CSI

Further to @alterhase58 point, and to my (limited) understanding, not having CSI in certain situations will prevent obtaining PR as you are not 'exercising treaty rights,' however it does not make the residence itself unlawful.

Re: Couple of questions related to my naturalisation application

In regards to Proof of English test, the form says you can satisfy it by: I met the knowledge of language and life requirement to qualify for settlement on or after 28th October 2013. Which I am pretty sure is the box for your to tick (or to say yes to if using online form). In regards to your secon...

How did you apply as the beta test is limited to few region and employers? Is it possible for every EU national to apply?
Yes, and even non-EEA nationals if they already have a BRP.
